Advantages: Padded seat, Good for small babies, Reclining
Disadvantages: Hard to clean, Expensive, Tray position poor
Do not buy this highchair unless you love cleaning ! When we first got this high chair I thought it was great - well padded and reclining - ideal for early weaning. The adjustable height feature has also been useful. Then, however my little boy started to feed himself, and I have been tearing my hair out ever since. This highchair is SO hard to clean. The main problems are : 1 -Food gets stuck in all the joints of the plastic cover. I had to keep taking the cover off to clean which is a real pain. 2-You cannot get the straps off to clean them properly. 3-There are too many joints in the frame which get really messy. 4-There is a crack along the back of the tray, facing the baby which just seems to trap food. This is the worst as it is the bit the baby touches so you want to keep it really clean. Aside from these moans I found that although the tray was nice and big, it was too high. My children couldn't see over it until they were about 9 months and they are both tall ! Also it takes a huge amount of space in the kitchen. As you can probably guess I am disappointed with this highchair considering it cost so much money. I know 2 other people who have this chair and they both feel the same. My parents bought a really cheap highchair for when we visit and it is so much better. Now that I am going through all this pallaver for a second time I am considering buying another chair.

- 21/04/02 Nice op. I am now intrigued by this 'impossible to clean' high chair and have read a few ops here that all say the same. I am convinced that whoever designed it doesn't have any children of their own. |

- 21/11/01 I know what you mean. I have a basic folding mothercare highchair, the tray is fixed and although the cover is wipe clean, I have to get such delights as dried weetabix off the plastic joins with an old toothbrush(what is it about weetabix - I practically have to chisel bits of it off my son's face after breakfast!) And as for the straps...I despair. |
