I didn't really know what kind of steriliser to get when I was pregnant and I have to admit I only chose the Maws because I had a money off coupon!
I'm glad I did though.
It consists of a large lidded bowl with 4 bottles, teats and lids, a pair of teat tongs and a bottle brush.
You can use it either as a microwave steriliser or as a cold water one.
I started off using the cold water method but soon found that to be too much like hard work and so started using the microwave method.
It is quite big, and only just fits in my microwave but all you do is fill the little well at the bottom with fresh cold water and fill the basic with all your bottles, dummies, and other utensils. then, 8 minutes later (plus a few minutes for cooling down), clean sterile stuff.
The only downside I think might be that it can be very hot when you take it out of the microwave and you have to be extremely careful not to scald yourself if you open it too soon.
Oh..and don't forget to put the water in it! I did once and the bottom of mine is all melted!
Maws now do a heat sensitive system where the bottles have little heat sensor strips on them to tell you if the milk inside is too hot or not. Great idea so I will be buying another Maws one when I need one again.
