When Jayden was born my parent bought him several Tiny Tatty Teddy items as this was the theme for his nursery, one of the items they bought was a Me To You Tiny Tatty Teddy Bowl and Spoon Set, as you may see from previous reviews we have started weaning him so now seemed like the perfect time to use his bowl and spoon, also this was aimed at young children with a cute design.
The Tiny Tatty Teddy Bowl and Spoon Set comes in a rectangle cardboard box, the background of the box is white and covered in multi coloured dots, in the corner is a drawing of a gift tag with a picture of Tiny Tatty Teddy and the Me To You logo, the logo also appears at the bottom of the front of the box along with pictures of small coloured buttons and safety pins. A lot of the front of the box is taken up with a large clear plastic window allowing you to see the bowl and spoon inside. The back of the box doesn't contain a huge amount of information, it does give a couple of warnings, a picture of the bowl and spoon and a picture of Tiny Tatty Teddy with the Me To You logo underneath. Inside the box is a plastic tray with cut outs in them where the bowl and spoons sits, this holds them in place inside the box.
The Bowl and Spoon
The Tiny Tatty Teddy Bowl and spoon are made from a thick sturdy white plastic, the bowl is reasonably deep and has a large rim going around the edge of it, this helps to keep the food in the bowl rather than all over the room whilst you are feeding your baby. The rim is covered with multi coloured dots, in the centre of the bowl is a picture of Tiny Tatty Teddy sitting down with a book on his head, around him are more multi coloured dots, around the base of the bowl is a large rubber circle this allows you to suction the bowl to a table whilst you are feeding your baby to prevent it slipping, this is also handy for when you baby learns to feed themselves, suctioning the bowl to the table means that it cannot end up on their head.
The spoon is made of the same chunky white plastic, the end of the spoon is just plain white, but the handle has multicoloured dots covering it with the words Me To You written down it in blue writing. The edges of the spoon are smooth and rounded so that they do not hurt your baby's mouth, this is important if they are teething and their gums are a bit sore and sensitive, the end of the spoon is also quite deep which is useful when your baby is starting off with things like baby rice, the deep scoop on the end prevents this slightly runnier food from spilling over the edges as you feed it to your baby.
Information about the bowl is a little limited however symbols on the bottom of the dish do state that the bowl and spoon set cannot be put in the microwave, however it can be washed in a dishwasher but only up to a certain temperature, personally I think the symbols on the bottom of the bowl are a little hard to read so to be on the safe side I just wash ours in a bowl of hot soapy water.
Price and Availability
Although we did not purchase this item ourselves I do know that the Tiny Tatty Teddy Bowl and Spoon Set came from the Me To You website and the set cost £7.99, personally I thought this was a reasonable price for this set as it is well made and of a high quality. This set is also available from other online shops, however the price does vary a little and on a lot of sites it is more expensive.
There is only one real warning on the back of the packaging which states that babies under 3 years old should be supervised by an adult when using this product. The warnings also state that this set should be rinsed before the first use.
We have been using our Tiny Tatty Teddy Bowl and Spoon Set for a while now and I have been very pleased with it. I like the fact that the bowl is quite deep as it means the food stays in the bowl as feeding a baby does get rather messy, I also partially like the design of the bowl, the Tiny Tatty Teddy picture in the centre is very cute and I was pleased to see that even after a lot of washing the picture has not rubbed off or faded at all, it has remained in place and bright.
Since starting using the bowl and spoon set we have had to stop using the spoon as it was a bit big for Jayden at the moment, he struggled with getting his mouth around it meaning he would get frustrated whilst eating so we swapped this for a smaller spoon (previous review) and have put the spoon that goes with the bowl away until he is a bit older and bigger when he can manage the larger spoon.
The bowl and spoon set is of an excellent quality and the thick chunky plastic means that it is strong and durable. This makes a lovely present for someone who has just had a baby or someone who is starting to wean their baby, I would highly recommend this product.
