I have used Aptamil powdered baby milk since my baby was about 5 weeks old. Prior to that I was breast feeding and wanted to use somethng that was as close to breast milk as I could. I spoke to friends and read up about the formulas available. Aptamil made by milupa claimed to be "inspired by breastmilk" so I thought I would try it. Things were a bit hectic to start with, as I think it is no matter how you feed your newborn. But after a few weeks we settled into a routine - feeding aptamil every 3 hours (under guidance from health visitor/midwife)
The only problem I had was that you have to boil the kettle, leave it to stand for half an hour, mix the powdered milk in then cool it down to the right temperature. This seemed to take forever and my little one was, by then, screaming the place down. I e-mailed the team of advisors from the aptamil site on the internet and they offered a suggestion to get round this and prepare the water in advance - this method has been a god send ! I now manage very well and babys feeding time is nice and relaxed.
We have no wind or colic problems-thanks god-not that I'm saying this milk prevents either of these.

You can get this already made up in handy cartons so if you are out and about you can just shove a few of these into your bag. They have just brought out a new one - easy digest which can help if your baby is sometimes constipated, it is also gluten free.

There are various stages - 1-from birth, 2-from birth for extra hungry babies, 3-follow on for older babies.

"We" are really happy and settled on this formula and at the moment would not change.
