Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Not very absorbent or gentle on nipples

I bought a box of Mothercare disposable breast pads before I gave birth and found them to be pretty rubbish in all honesty. They come in a large box containing 100 pads and it is dark blue and silver in colour, with white lettering on it.

The pads themselves are white. They do not absorb the milk well, it tends to run off them into your bra so you end up with an uncomfortable, damp bra filled with soggy breast pads! They also do not feel very gentle on nipples that are bound to be tender in the early days/weeks of feeding, they are definately rough compared to the Johnsons ones that I also used.

It is worth mentioning though that it was only about £5 for a box of 100 and the Johnsons ones are more expensive than that (although I can't remember exactly how much) so that really ought to be taken into consideration when comparing them I suppose. I guess maybe you get what you pay for - they were cheap and not very good.

Summary: There are better brands available and it is probably worth spending a bit more on them
