Advantages: Covers sleeves. Washes well. Secure fastening. Peva backing.
Disadvantages: More expensive. Can only find in in 9 months + size.
I had some Mothercare Coverall Bib that I used with my son when he was younger. While at home I tended to use a plastic bib when we were at home, when we were out and about I liked to use a material bib because this folded up and was just more portable. I had a variety of material bibs and the Mothercare Coverall Bibs were something I used fairly regularly and I still feel is a really good idea. A twin pack of the bibs currently costs £5.99 from Mothercare - and so obviously this equates to £3.00 per bib. While this is more expensive than many bibs, because this bib covered the more of his clothes then I other bibs, it was something I was happy to pay.
The bibs come in a variety of colours and I have two red bibs which are a nice, bright colour. The bibs are made out of cotton and polyester terry towelling, and the back of the bibs is covered in a plastic layer which further protects the clothes. Because it is made of cotton and polyester, the bib is machine washable and I always found that the bibs washed well - and I think the red colour meant that any stains were happily hidden anyway.
The bibs are different in as much as they not only covered the front of my sons clothes, but they also covered his arms and protected his sleeves. It actually fits a little like a jumper, although there isn't a back to the bib and so it's really easy to put on and it just fastens at the back. Once fastened, my son wasn't able to remove it, but I was ale to remove it easily.
Overall, I really recommend these bibs. although it's worth mentioning that I have only been able to find the bibs in the larger sizes (over 9 months) and it would be good if there were smaller sizes available.
Summary: Recommended.
