Mothercare Coverall Bib
Advantages: Works well
These bibs are such a great idea for when you are out and do not want to ruin your little ones clothing when you are feeding them. Normally at home if we are eating anything that stains or will make a mess on their clothes such as spaghetti I will strip my little boy down to his nappy and sometimes I will do it to my toddler girl too although she is much better about not making a mess now. However, when you're out at a restaurant you can't really strip them poor little things so I need something That can cover their whole outfit completely so they won't get any stains on their clothes. Usually if we are having lunch out somewhere it's part of being out for the whole day and I still want them to look nice after lunch too and these bibs really help with that.
There are various different designs on these bibs that you can buy in Mothercare but I went with the unisex red and green ones as then both my son and daughter can wear them. They come in a pack of two and I think they cost me less than £10 which is a really good bargain, especially as these are washable and reusable.
The bibs remind me of those terry Rowling robes you used to get as a kid when you went to the beach. These bibs are made of a towelling material on the front and are quite soft which is nice. They have long sleeves and are elasticated at the cuff slightly which makes for a somewhat tight fit. The bib then covers up the whole front of your little one once it is on and around each side a little bit, hence why it is called a coverall bib. It fastens around the neck with Velcro which unfortunately is the only downside of this bib for me. My little girl at two and a half will keep this bib on but my little boy who is ten months old thinks it is a brilliant game to pull his bib off every time mummy fastens it back and he is very good at pulling it off. He's the one I specifically bought these bibs for, to keep him clean so it's frustrating when he pulls them off but I'm sure he'll learn soon.
Apart from that these bibs work great. The towelling material soaks up quite a lot of drink that my little boy pours down himself and there is a plastic backing on the bib that stops it from soaking into his clothes which is nice. The tightness around the sleeves and the neck when he manages to keep it on stops food from getting on his clothes and I find the bib covers well. What I hate about regular bibs is that they seem to only catch food at the front but often it gets into some weird places such as at the bottom of his clothes and on the shoulders but this bib covers those places and stops it from happening. They wash well and then I just hang them out to dry. They have stained a little, especially with tomato based sauces but the dark red and green colours cover it up well and they look fine to use in public.
A good coverall bib from Mothercare.
