Simple easy idea, ideal for people who are breast feeding (Mothercare Steriliser Bottles)

Advantages: Quick sterilising, don't need chemicals

Disadvantages: Plastic tongs are not very good

This is one of the simplest ideas I've seen for baby equipment. I planned to breastfeed so didn't consider I would need much equipment, and didn't want to go to the expense of buying a steam steriliser, so I bought these.

A wide neck bottle holding 9oz, the instructions are on the side, telling you how long to microwave for and the different times for more bottles.

You turn the cover/lid upside down and fill with water to the fill mark (clearly evident on the lid), you then put the tongs holding the teat/top in the cover/lid, then the bottle pushed onto the lid. Put it in the microwave for 1 min (for one) and out it comes, leave it to cool (if you are desperate put it in front of a fan) and then take everything out using the tongs.

One clean bottle freshly sterilised ready to use.

The only problem I found was the tongs were not very good, things kept slipping off them. This wasn't a major issue for me as I didn't use the bottles that often. This made them more useful as I sterilised what I needed and didn't have to have any prepared in advance. Ideal for people who are breast feeding.
