Advantages: easy, everythings included, sterilise 1-6 bottles

Disadvantages: None!

I decided to breastfeed my daughter when she was born and thus me had no use for bottles or a steriliser or anything of the likes. It was when she was 10 weeks old and we discovered she was allergic to milk and soya that I had a real need for introducting bottles to her as I'd found myself cutting milk and dairy from my own diet. She had a completely different idea though and has never to this day taken from a bottle.

When I came across these bottles in mothercare I thought they were the perfect solution. We have a small kitchen with only one main worktop so a steriliser wouldn't have fit comfortably and I wanted to ensure that my daughters bottles would be sterile and safe for her to use with her new milk. These bottles are capable of sterilising themselves in the microwave by just adding a little bit of water and leaving each bottle for 1.30. It's possible to sterilise more than one bottle (upto 6 bottles) at a time by adding a little more time so if you're exclusively bottle feeding you don't need to stand there for 1.30 each time.

The good thing about these bottles is that they can be sterilised by conventional methods too so you can use a cold water steriliser or an actual steriliser and it does the same job. They are also dishwasher safe so no more standing at the sink with a bottle brush scrubbing until they're clean!

The bottles old upto 9oz of milk which is 240ml for people that don't speak baby language yet! This is more than enough to feed the hungriest baby so you won't find yourself heading back to the kitchen in a rush to get more milk for your wee one.

The teats and bottle sealing caps are included with the bottles and the teats are pretty much the same as the avent ones. In fact, if you need new teats, the avent teats fit in very nicely and just go inside the bottle to sterilise them. The mothercare teats that come with it don't have a size on them but I think they are variflow as you can use them from newborn to toddler.

The bottles come in at a whopping £16.99 for 6 but if you think about it, it's fantastic value as it comes with everything you need and you save that £30+ on a steriliser.

The tongs come with the bottles so you don't have to handle them at all and despite other reviews, ours are all still in good working order and I've no complaints at all. Every review we saw beforehand said the tongs all broke very easily and that you can't purchase them seperately. Well we have 4 bottles and 4 sets of tongs still in working order and we use the bottles once a day to heat up my daughters neocate (antiallergy formula) for her breakfast.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of opinion in this review but I can't recommend the bottles highly enough. It saves space in your kitchen (necessity), saves money on a steriliser (necessity), allows you to sterilise one bottle at a time or 6 bottles depending on your need and is perfectly safe for your baby to use.

The bottles are a little bit wider than the avent ones but only just and we've never had trouble fitting them into bottle holders or warmers or anything.

Overall? I would recommend these to anyone with a baby. They're ideal for everyday use and perfect for going on holiday as you don't need to pack the kitchen sink to sterilise them - just ensure there's a microwave where you're going and you're sorted. Yes, they are a bit more expensive but they really are worth every penny. I'll definitely be getting more of these for our next baby.

Summary: Would recommend these to anyone looking to breastfeed or bottlefeed.

We were told before she reached one she'd have grown out of them. Well she's now 17 months and can tolerate some soya but still no milk. Still got fingers crossed she will grow out of it :)

My daughter was on neocate for a while as well, she had chronic reflux. Nowadays she has a slight dairy intolerance -it gives her eczema, but she seems okay with soya milk. I've heard they usually grow out of these things as they get older.
