NUK Mickey Minnie Learner Bottle
Advantages: Soft non spill low flow spout, good handles, beautiful design
I predominantly breastfeed my son and it has been my ongoing battle since he was born to try and get him to feed from a bottle.
After trying out various formulas, teats and bottles I was nearly ready to give up when my health visitor suggested that I try the NUK teats. I bought a pack of two teats online and found that they did not fit on any of the bottles I had, so I ended up getting a NUK bottle as well.
The description said that this bottle comes with a silicone spout, so I figured I might as well get this one as I already had the teats to suit the bottle.
I bought the red one and it is a really beautiful red colour, which is saying something as I dont usually care for such details as long as the thing works. The bottle is transparent plastic, straight sides unlike the funny curved ones of some other brands that i have, and has 150 ml capacity. The are clear markings in ml and ounces, and a Mickey mouse image on it. It says made in Germany on the bottle. The cap is a light red colour, and the top of the cap is well above the uppermost part of the spout (and not tightfit onto the teat as i have usually seen) so if you shake the bottle a bit of milk can come out through the teat/spout onto the cap. The handle of the bottle is detachable with a bit of effort, so there is no risk of the bottle slipping out of it if you little one is handling it by himself. It is made of a firm material, but is not uncomfortably hard, and has very little movement. The bottle is wide mouthed enough to allow easy cleaning. I think the straight sides make cleaning even easier.
Now I come to the main event- the silicone non spill spout. You wont believe this - after trying for four months, my son is finally happily accepting bottlefeeds - with the spout! I quite like it myself. It is the same material as teat, has the same feel, although it looks a bit smaller. It is towards one side of the bottle rather than in the centre like a teat. This spout has a small hole at the side near the very top, and the milk does not flow out at a great speed, so it lets your baby drink comfortably. There is an airvent at the bottom of the spout which is supposedly an anti-colic feature.
This bottle is part of the First Choice series, which means that you can use it with all other First Choice products.

I dont know whether it was the spout that worked or four months of persistence that paid off, but my son is now happy with bottles and I put it down to this one. I bought the bottle to use the teats, and now the teats are useless! I am very glad I bought it, thinking of getting the black one too.
