I tried several different types of nappies when i had my first child, as i wanted to make sure i did things 'properly'. i thought it would be a big contender between huggies and pampers, but in my opinion pampers wins hands down. the dreaded time i had to get through the pack of huggies was a nightmare. i don't know if its because my daughter was a heavy baby but i found that the huggies nappies always leaked. i wasnt keen on the velcro straps instead of the stick on ones, and wasted several nappies from accidentally pulling the velcro bit open too hard and it ripped off. i never had this problem with pampers. i find that the entire range has been ...

********UPDATE (25/9/2002)********* I've had a bit of a falling out with Pampers this last week or so. After spending £12.50 on a box of 80 size 5 nappies, I found most of them to be defective in that the wing where the left hand tab is attached is not very stable and tears away with the slightest pressure. Also they are not holding as much fluid as they should be and after an hours wear, are coming away at the seam inside the nappy, which means Rachel ends up with the nappy filling stuck to her little private parts. They say on the advert for these new baby nappies that poo happens, and as a new mother to a delightful but very pooey baby boy, I can heartily agree!!! Being the organized type of person that I am, since being twenty weeks pregnant, every time I went to Tesco's I bought something for “bump”, either nappies or wipes or shampoo – you know the kind of thing.
