Advantages: Various adjustments therefore grows well with child

Disadvantages: May not fit all chairs, 3 point harness

Once we had been weaning my son onto solids for a few weeks we started looking into highchairs, initially we'd been feeding him in his bouncy chair but he was becoming too big for it.

We live in a flat so don't have loads of space so as I was looking through catalogues and online for highchairs I also came across booster seats the fix on to your dining room chair which sounded like a great idea as it meant I wouldn't have a highchair taking up more space in our flat yet would have somewhere appropriate to feed my son.

After looking at a few I chose this one as I felt it was more versatile than some of the others on the market. We bought it for about £28. It fixes onto your dining chair with one strap under the seat and another that goes round the back of the chair, there are also rubber feet on the base to help it maintain it's postion. The seat part has a 3 level height adjustment easily changed with a push button on either side of the seat. The seat back is also able to change with your child as it has 3 positions- fully reclined, semi reclined and upright. It can also be removed later on. There is a lightly padded cushion on the seat back.

The tray is removeable and has 3 position settings, it is easily adjusted with one hand. The tray has a small insert so place a small beaker or carton in. There is also a removeable click on insert on the tray that is dishwasher safe.

This is a great alternative to a traditional highchair especially if you are short of space. If you have small seats on your chair of if your chair is wide at the fron but narrow at the back you may find it difficult to fit this booster seat. Though I imagine it would fit most chairs well. It is very secure once fitted, there is only a 3 point harness which may be a disadvantage to some particularly when the child is younger.

Summary: Great alternative to traditional highchair especially if short of space
