Advantages: long lasting, good looking, easy to clean

Disadvantages: relatively expensive

This is my top recommendation to anyone who has a baby. I prize this over everything we have bought for our child (and that is saying something ! ). Let me tell you why I like it so much ...

We bought this chair when our little boy was about 6 months he is now 2 and a half, it has been used at least 3 times a day for the past 2 years. That means he has sat in this high chair over 2000 times and it still looks as good as the day we bought it.

Yes it is expensive, especially as we bought the cushion and baby adaptor attachments so it cost around £150 in all, but if you work it out that is less than 1p per use so far, and I envisage we will use it for at least another 3 years if not longer (my niece has one, she still uses hers and she is nearly 6).

So although it costs a lot , it lasts forever, but what about the day to day practicalities....

Our little boy sits at the table to eat with us, he can partcipate in family life and share in what we are doing rather than being sat on his own behind a highchair table.

It is solid wood, with very few 'creases' where food and dirt can collect, so it is very easy to clean.

We choose the classic beech colour (they come in a wide range of wood finishes and painted colours) which blends nicely in with the rest of the furniture. We didn't want some technicolour monstrosity at the table, there are plenty of those around the rest of the house !!

The Tripp Trapp doesn't fold away, it sits at the table like any other chair, so you don't have to find somewhere to store it or keep tripping up over it as you move around.

He actually likes sitting in 'his chair', he always has found it very comfortable. As well as sitting in it to eat, he will use it to colour at the table, and has even been know to head to his chair to sit and read a book !

The Tripp Trapp is fully adjustable so you can set it to fit your child and the height of your table.

We have even taken the Tripp Trapp on holiday with us. It unscrews easily (with an alan key) lies flat in the boot of the car and fits back together quickly. Ours has been to Cornwall, France and Ireland ! But it meant that he had something familiar and comfortable when he is away from home which always makes a parents life easier!

Like I say, I wouldn't be without the Tripp Trapp and can honestly say that every child should have one.

Re: the content - we had been using a booster seat (10 quid from Toys are Us) since my daughter was about 2; and then when we moved countries when she was 2.5 left it behind and she's fine with just a cushion - she has her own table for drawing etc on 'her level'. But even now (and she is 3.5!) she often demands to be sat in a 'baby' chair when one is available in a cafe or restaurant - of course she hardly fits in most of them now....

Hi, welcome to dooyoo! This was a good first review. More precise information about the price of the item would be great, and possibly on where it can be bought if it's not a commonly known brand.

Let me give you a few starting tips - the dooyoo guides are here to help so don't hesitate to ask for advice and help. I am the guide for Kids and Family category, the full list can be found here:

Read around the site - this way you will see what makes for a Very Useful (or a crown worthy) review in terms of content, structure and balance between description and opinion.

If you read, rate and comment on others' work they will be more likely to read and rate your reviews.

It is better to limit the number of reviews you post to one per day per category - this way members will not get overloaded with your work and will want to read it.

Write your reviews as for a person who has never heard of the product but don't retype manuals or whole product specs, concentrate on important features and relate them to personal experience.

Write in a word processor and run a spell check. It is also good idea to re-read and revise to see if the structure and flow could be improved.
