Advantages: Plastic - so wipeable and durable. Easy to fasten. Comfortable. Price. Catch tray.

Disadvantages: Easy to unfasten for a toddler. Cannot be reduced in size.

When my son was younger I had a variety of bibs for him to wear in order to protect his clothing and to cut down on the ridiculous amount of laundry a baby and toddler tends to generate. One of the bibs I had was the Tommie Tipppee Comfi-Neck Catch-All Bib which I bought from Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk) for just £2.95 (including post and packaging) and I thought that this was a really good price that I was happy to pay. You can get this bib from high street stores, but I found that Amazon offered the best price.

The bib comes in three colours, namely pink, green and blue. I think the pink and the blue are nice shades, but the green is a kind of diarrhoea green and it's just not nice. I bought my son the blue version which is a nice light but bright blue shade. It has no decoration on it and so it's plain, other than the "Tommee Tippee" logo which is printed in white on the front of the bib. The bib is made in a traditional design which means that it sits flat against the chest and then has a catch tray at the bottom of the bib which is designed to catch any drips or small food spills that my son may have. The bib is made of plastic and while it is rigid it also has some flexibility which seems to make the bib fairly comfortable to wear. Because it is made of plastic it can be easily wiped over between uses with just soapy water and it cleans up easily. I like the fact that I don't have to put this through the washing machine and therefore it is always ready for use. However, because it is made of plastic, it cannot be folded up small to fit into a bag and so it was a bib that I only tended to use when I was in the house and not when I was out and about.

The bib is fastened around the neck and there are little plastic pegs that need to be pushed into one of the holes to fasten it securely. Fastening it is easy and it is easy to remove also, although as my son got older it got to the point that he was able to remove the bib easily also - and this could be a messy business at times! There was a soft bit that went around the neck and therefore this aided the comfort also.

Overall, this bib worked fairly well. It did protect my sons clothes well and most bits did get caught in the catch tray at the bottom of the bib. However, because it was so easy to undo, it did mean that sometimes their would be a mess created when he tried to remove the bib. I would recommend this bib for use at home although it's not really the best option for using when out and about simply because it cannot be reduced in size.

Summary: Recommended.
