Advantages: Easy to use, easy to clean

Disadvantages: None

When I had my second son I knew that I wanted to express some milk for his night feeds as soon as was possible, but was given alot of information which made me worried about introducing a bottle too early as it can confuse very small babies as the suckling action is different for bottle and for breast, so I was hesitant to buy anything

However my Community Midwife recommended the Tommy Tippee Closer to Nature range and it was fantastic! The bottles were about £4.00 each, and they came with a teat already. The teat is wide neck and the teat copies the way a breast moves when a baby is suckling and its extremely soft compared to other teats. They are also BPA (Bisphenol A) free - as there has been alot of news recently about how this is harmful to babies and can still be found in some babies bottles. The teats come in slow flow, medium flow and fast flow. The bottles has markers for 1-9 onces, so they can be used for forumla for tiny babies who only drink a few onces, to older babies who drink alot more.
Both my son and daughter have been able to move between breast and bottle very easily, which has been a godsend!

The teats are expensive to replace and they have to be replaced quite frequently - they are clear plastic but they go opaque quickly. The teats can be bought at most supermarkets and are around £3. Another thing I dont particulaly like is that the bottles dont fit in regular insulated carriers, so if you want to go out and keep a bottle warm you have to buy one of their special carriers, but this is a small price to pay!

Summary: I would recommend these bottles.

I used these from about 5 weeks into breastfeeding, & my son took to them no problem (& back again!).
