Advantages: didn't leak, easy to clean
Disadvantages: hard to drink from
Overview
I bought this cup for my son when he was about 9 months old, following the 9mth+ guideline on the packing. It was about £2 from asda so not a bad price. Unfortunately my son hated it at first. He couldn't get the water out unless he sucked so hard he went red. After a few go's I admitted defeat and put it in the cupboard. Several months later I had run out of cups one day and I got this from the cupboard and gave it too him. I think he must have strengthened his muscles by now as he found it easier to drink from. It was still hard work but doable. After a few months the valve had eased off enough for him to drink from it easy enough and it became his favourite. He used it for about 18 more months until the spout had become so chewed (my daughter had got hold of it by now) that it was leaking all over the place.
Packaging / contents/ availability
Found in baby aisles of most supermarkets hanging up, but also at baby stores such as Mothercare. Easy enough to find online too, details of retailers found on their website www.tommeetippee.co.uk. It is available in a range of colours to suit different children.
Use
I don't think it's really that suitable for 9 month olds as it is quite big and so heavy when full and its very hard to drink from. The smaller one would probably be better. The hygiene lid was good as long as you remembered to leave it off when drying. It was stiff to start with and took several months to loosen up enough for my little man to manage it along. The soft spout was nice but irresistible to children to chew  It is dishwasher safe (top shelf)
Advantages
* It didn't really leak/spill
* Lasted about 18 months before spout was chewed to bit (I consider this not bad!)
* No slip base so didn't fall off tables easily
Disadvantages
* Really hard for smaller children to drink from
* If it's left to dry with the lid on it got a nasty mould smell that was hard to get rid of.
Price / Value for money
Depending on where you get it depends on the price but its not bad value for money. It lasted quite a while and apparently you can get replacement spouts when they get worn (I didn't know this before I threw mine away.
Overall
I liked this cup and wouldn't have a problem having one again. I suspect I'll be getting a pink one for my daughter at some point, but I'll be waiting until she is a little older.
Summary: Not a bad cup for the money
