Advantages: Leak proof, well made, cheap

Disadvantages: Hard to clean valve

After the first sippy cup I had bought for my daughter turned out to be a leaky disaster I was looking forward to this Easiflow cup which claimed to be leak proof.

I bought it in my local supermarket for 5 euro when my daughter was about 6 months old. This was the recommended stage to move onto this type of sippy cup. They are available in a range of colours to suit both boys and girls.

It is dishwasher safe and consists of a screw top lid that wouldn't be easy for a baby to open but easy for the adult. There is also a valve under the lid which helps prevent spillage. There are two handles that had a rubber feel which are easy for baby to get a grip of. It also has a rubber base so it won't slide easily off a table during hectic dinner times.

In order to get liquid out the baby must suck it out like a straw. This is a good mechanism because it prevents any leaks. It can go into your handbag without any problems. There are also larger types available that will fit more fluid and you can also get these without the handles but I decided the best to start with was the smaller cup with handles as I was trying to get my daughter comfortable with drinking on her own.

However you need to give this valve a very good clean because it does not always come out perfect from the dishwasher. The spouts can also be replaced when needed and there is a handy flip cover that will protect the spout in transport.

Summary: Sippy cup that prevents spills
