Advantages: Non spll and insulated
Disadvantages: Have to hold it certain way for liquid to come out
I bought this cup for my son when he was around 15months old because he was tending to drink tonnes of water and the cup I had wasn't really big enough. I was having to fill it around ten times a day!
The one we have is green and has pictures of a jungle scene around it. I think they come in a couple of other colours and I picked mine up in Tescos for about £2.50.
It is insulated so it keeps the liquid cool and it has a screw top lid. The lid has a sliding bit on it and when it's flipped back the straw pops up. It's very light weight and is a thin tuberlar shape which makes it easy for your child to get it's hands around. It also has a non-spill technology.
My son is getting on very well with this cup. He loves the fact that he gets a mini shower when you flick the top back to reveal the straw. You can garantee he will laugh everytime!
Sometimes he complains that he wants more when there is actually loads of water in there so when he did that a few times I had a try at sucking. It turns out that to enable the liquid to come through the straw you have to have the cup a certain way around. The straw has a little split that you need to bite on which will release the liquid , it goes horizontally so if you have it the wrong way then you are just pushing the slit closed even more. I hope that makes sense:)
The one thing I am finding with this cup is it's quite difficult to clean. We dont have a dish washer so I hand wash it but it's hard to make sure the straw is fully clean and I can't get in all the crevices. I'm not sure how long it would last if you were putting juice and milk in it. Thankfully my little chap only drinks water so it's not too bad.
This cup is fine once your child gets the hang of it although there are a few flaws. I don't think I would buy it again.
Summary: A non spill, insulatated cup with some positives and negatives.
