Advantages: good size for first time feeding

Disadvantages: Heat sensitive doesnt work, no good after 4 months of feeding

When you first start your child on solid foods it is hard to get them to eat the foods that you try and it is hard to know if the food is too hot or not due to your own mouth being able to take hotter food than theirs.

I saw these spoons in boots. At first I thought they were just normal spoons that were different colours then I noticed the words heat sensative so I picked them up to have a read.

The packaging explained about how the part of the spoon that goes in the mouth will change colour at a certain heat to let you know that the food was too hot to eat. Since I had just had my first child and you will worry about everything with your first I really wanted these. The price was good at just £3 for a pack of 4 I couldnt grumble to give them a try.

At first my son was only having cold breakfasts so they weren't really proving the heat sensitive part but they were doing great to be able to get just enough food in his mouth for him to try what he was eating it was a perfect size.

When he did go onto the meals I started warming the food by adding boiling water to the mixtures or heating the jars. The spoons were showing that the food was too hot but by the time they showed the food was ready to eat the food was then cold so the heat sensitve aspect is not a good as it is made out I just started to test the food myself even if the taste of it was nasty, the things we do for our kids.

These spoons are good for first time feeding but as your child gets older you can not get enough food on the spoon to satisfy them. The heat sensitive aspect is a good gimmic but doesnt seem to work and after they have been washed and sterilized so many times they tend to stay the sensitive colour.

I wouldn't rate these highly and for the price I would suggest just to buy normal baby spoons that are cheaper.

Summary: Not as good as they are made out to be
