I first bought these spoons when my son (now 10) was weaning. They were new at the time, and I was very nervous of how well they'd actually perform, but after a few mealtimes of testing the temperature myself as well, I came to trust the technology.

I have the yellow, as in the picture, and if the food is very hot, the bowl of the spoon turns the same colour as the picture. This is particularly pleasing when washing them up.

I find the spoons very easy to use - comfortable to hold for adult or baby, and the bowl is shallow enough that food doesn't get stuck when used by a newly weaned baby, but also deep enough that it's a satisfying mouthful for an older toddler. After he weaned, I found them perfect for icing cakes as well!

Ten years on, my daughter still uses them. They still change colour as expected, still wash well, still in perfect condition. She loves to use them as teethers as well.

The only down side to these spoons is that they do take a long time to revert to their 'normal' colour. I just run it under a cold tap until it's red again.

Summary: Very useful, perfect design.
