Both Hannah and Jess have these cups although they are rarely use in the house not as trying to train them to drink from a normal cup without a lid (had many floods and wet clothes) however they are great for the car.
I bought them from asda last year when it was the baby week and everything was reduced, they cost £1.99 each very cup cups.
We have the tommee tippee kids on the go sipper cup in both in pink and decorated with a cat, ball, kite and balloons in bright colours. There is a few choices of colours and designs to choose from. The cup is pink but clear apart from the pictures on it so you can see how much juice is left in the cup. The age recommendation is for 9 months plus. The cup is threaded at the top and the lid screws on, it has a flip up and down spout with three holes in it. It also holds 12 oz of fluid and does not leak it the lid is screwed on properly and the spout is pushed back.
I find this the ideal cup to travel with, the girls manage to push the spout up and down themselves, it holds a good amount of juice and lasts them a good while before needing toped up again. It is easy to clean and dishwasher safe had not faded over the year durable to tested when Hannah threw the cup in temper on a concrete floor and lid stayed on.
Another fab tommee tippee product, i highly recommend the tommee tippee kids on the go sipper cups.
I have bought two of these Tommee Tippee Super Sipper cups recently.
At 3 and a half I decided that my son was probably a bit old for the two handled baby cups that we had and decided to look for something more suitable. My son drinks quite a lot and likes to take juice outside and if we go anywhere so although he is big enough for a normal cup I needed something with a lid. I had already bought him a Ben 10 sports drinking bottle but this is quite big and he finds it cumbersome to carry around.
I get my shopping delivered from Asda so had a look on their website for a suitable lidded cup. I found a few different types of tommee tippee cups and mostly guided by the price of £2.35 I decided on the Super Sipper. Unfortunately the cup that was bought to me was pink and so I had to return it because 'pink is girlish'.
Later that day I was shopping at my local Co-op and found the Super Sipper cups available in blue with pictures of dogs dressed as pirates and scuba divers on them. They were priced at £2.99 but I felt that as it would save me a trip into town I would pay the extra. I also have a Co-op dividend card so I would get a few points back onto my card which I save up to use to buy clothes.
The cup has a screw on lid which is much easier than some of the other push on ones that we have. The spout folds flat for transportation and to stop leaks. When the spout is open for drinking the juice flows freely and does spill out if tipped over or left lying on the furniture or floors. When full the cup holds approximately 350ml of liquid.
My son was very pleased with his new cup and took to it straight away. He liked the pictures on the side even though they weren't a recognisable character and he didn't have any trouble opening and closing the spout. The problems started when my youngest son aged 16 months decided he wanted the cup and kept stealing it. After about a week of fighting and tantrums and tears over the cup I was in town and decided to see if I could find something similar for my youngest.
I went to Wilkinsons knowing that they had a small baby section hoping they might have a cheap cup in a similar style. I was very pleased to find another blue Super Sipper that had pictures of all different types of boats on it and an orange lid. The next thing I noticed was that it was priced at only £2.00 so I bought one straight away.
Now both my sons are happy with their new cups. As they don't look like traditional baby drinking cups my older son is very happy and my younger son is happy because he has the same as his brother.
I would definitely recommend the Tommee Tippee Super Sipper cups as they are fairly reasonably priced and very sturdy. They go in the dishwasher and are easy to clean and store. They come in blue or pink with a variety of different pictures on and would appeal to any child. A younger child may find them difficult to hold as they do not have handles but I would say that a child over 18 months wouldn't have a problem.
Description of product:
This product is Tommee Tippee 'Kids on the go! Super sipper', it is suitable for babies and toddlers over 9 months. It comes in three colours as far as I have seen in the shops, in pink, clear and blue. It is beautifully decorated and has cartoons of cats, cakes, balloons, presents and other children friendly objects/characters. It can have 300ml of liquid inside but unfortunately does not have measurements listed on the actual beaker so you can't measure how much you are putting inside. It has a flip up spout which can easily be put down to avoid spills when not in use. It has a screw top lid which is fairly easy to open and close.
Cost and availability:
It can be bought from most large supermarkets, I have bought three altogether, from three different stores, Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury. I have also seen this beaker in a few different pharmacies, one being Lloyds. It can be bought from Ebay and many other online stores. Therefore it is relatively easy to obtain one of these.
The cost of the product varies from £2.42 to over £3.00. I have seen it the cheapest at Sainsbury's for £2.42. Perhaps some sellers may be selling cheaper on Ebay.
Advantages of product:
It is extremely easy to clean, probably the easiest beaker or bottle I have ever needed to clean. It just has two parts, the lid and the actual bottle which is large enough to use a sponge or large brush to clean and the spout easily flips to allow for quick and easy cleaning.
It has a very entertaining and fun design that attracts children to it. My daughter didn't take well to weaning off the bottle to beaker, however when she saw this beaker she was attracted to the cartoon designs of cats and balloons and the vastly pink colour.
It allows free flow so that the child does not have to suck hard to release the liquid. Also it is leak proof when the spout is placed back therefore can be stored in bags without fear of leaks.
Disadvantages of product:
When the spout is open it can easily be spilled if pushed or child shakes it. Therefore would not think of it as completely spill proof unless the spout is closed. Unlike other similar products which can be wobbled about without leakage as it has an automatic release spout when the baby/child sucks.
Another con is that it does not have measurements listed on the actual beaker so that you would not know how much liquid you are putting inside. For cows milk, water, juices on the whole will not make much difference but if your child is still on formula it would be difficult to measure the correct amount.
I spent a lot of money and time trying different beaker style bottles to get my daughter off the original bottle and she would not like the beakers that she would have to suck hard to realise the milk. However she liked this product the most and still uses it for her milk and water. It is easy to clean and straight forward with no little pieces inbetween. It is long lasting and I have not had any problems on the whole.
Leak proof. For 18 months and up.
