Advantages: More suitable for toddlers - nice design - very sturdy - folding spout

Disadvantages: You still get leaks if the spout is left open

I have bought two of these Tommee Tippee Super Sipper cups recently.

At 3 and a half I decided that my son was probably a bit old for the two handled baby cups that we had and decided to look for something more suitable. My son drinks quite a lot and likes to take juice outside and if we go anywhere so although he is big enough for a normal cup I needed something with a lid. I had already bought him a Ben 10 sports drinking bottle but this is quite big and he finds it cumbersome to carry around.

I get my shopping delivered from Asda so had a look on their website for a suitable lidded cup. I found a few different types of tommee tippee cups and mostly guided by the price of £2.35 I decided on the Super Sipper. Unfortunately the cup that was bought to me was pink and so I had to return it because 'pink is girlish'.

Later that day I was shopping at my local Co-op and found the Super Sipper cups available in blue with pictures of dogs dressed as pirates and scuba divers on them. They were priced at £2.99 but I felt that as it would save me a trip into town I would pay the extra. I also have a Co-op dividend card so I would get a few points back onto my card which I save up to use to buy clothes.

The cup has a screw on lid which is much easier than some of the other push on ones that we have. The spout folds flat for transportation and to stop leaks. When the spout is open for drinking the juice flows freely and does spill out if tipped over or left lying on the furniture or floors. When full the cup holds approximately 350ml of liquid.

My son was very pleased with his new cup and took to it straight away. He liked the pictures on the side even though they weren't a recognisable character and he didn't have any trouble opening and closing the spout. The problems started when my youngest son aged 16 months decided he wanted the cup and kept stealing it. After about a week of fighting and tantrums and tears over the cup I was in town and decided to see if I could find something similar for my youngest.

I went to Wilkinsons knowing that they had a small baby section hoping they might have a cheap cup in a similar style. I was very pleased to find another blue Super Sipper that had pictures of all different types of boats on it and an orange lid. The next thing I noticed was that it was priced at only £2.00 so I bought one straight away.

Now both my sons are happy with their new cups. As they don't look like traditional baby drinking cups my older son is very happy and my younger son is happy because he has the same as his brother.

I would definitely recommend the Tommee Tippee Super Sipper cups as they are fairly reasonably priced and very sturdy. They go in the dishwasher and are easy to clean and store. They come in blue or pink with a variety of different pictures on and would appeal to any child. A younger child may find them difficult to hold as they do not have handles but I would say that a child over 18 months wouldn't have a problem.

Summary: A great cup that is a bit more grown up for toddlers before they use a proper cup

They all claim to be leakproof, but I haven't found one that really is.
