Tommee Tippee Milk Feeding Bib
Advantages: Work really well, high quality
Disadvantages: A little pricey
I actually first received these bibs by accident as they were included in the steriliser starter bundle I had brought. Along with a few other items were two of these bibs and I am so glad I found them. What I love about these bibs is the texture of them. They are ever so soft meaning if I wipe my little ones mouth it is gentle on their skin. I think this makes the bib seem almost soothing it really is nice to touch and my children always ran their fingers through it once they found their hands so I guess they must like it too. They are made of towel material meaning they can soak up spills effortlessly and with a little fabric conditioner in the wash it does not dry out staying soft.
The thing that separates these bibs from every other one on the market is the dribble catcher. Right on the top of the bib where it sits along little ones neck is a really thick sponge area so it catches any dribble from teething or drinking their bottle. They are also rather thick compared to other variations on the whole of the bib rather than just at the neck and a good size to provide a good shield for the whole of the child's upper body.
One thing I love about these bibs is that it has a Velcro fastening. This means it can grow with baby and it fits them longer than the over the head ones. This is tight under little ones chin so it catches all of the dribble and milk that roll down their face and prevents it from reaching their skin. It is not restricting so that little one feels uncomfortable but a close fit to work well. They are not too big so they are annoying for little one and despite the thickness they are really light so comfortable for something that is worn all day. I found that I can use these from bottle feeding through to weaning by simply moving the Velcro attachment along a little providing a bigger loop around the neck of the child.
With other bibs I find that if my children turn their head the bib loosens at the neck and then they can get some irritation for any milk that escapes the bib. This one sits close even as they move around while forming a barrier preventing anything from reaching little ones skin.My newest addition to our family dribbles more than any of my other children and at first we were using some pretty bibs that her aunty had brought her. We found that even with a bib on it was becoming soaked and in result the wetness of the bib was still catching her chest. I decided to get these back out give them a wash and I am so glad I did although it was only 2 years ago since I last used them I had forgotten just how good they were.
It can be washed in the washing machine which I have done many times. They hold their shape, colour and softness and dry really quickly. They are also fantastic quality I have used these with two of my children so far and they still fit and work perfectly. Now they are beginning to wear down a little the Velcro is becoming less sticky but not so much so it is ineffective at holding the bib in place. One thing to note is not to tumble dry them I did this one and the bib did shrink considerably so I tend to dry them on the clothes airier.
Even though these bibs of course still do get damp I find they last a considerable amount longer than other bibs before they need changed. This helps save her clothes and her skin from any stains or irritation. They are recommended from birth plus which I think is sensible as although they do look rather large on little they still stay close to the neck performing well.
These are the best bibs I have found I always come back to them as they help protect little ones skin by preventing the milk from reaching their neck. They last really well and are the high quality you would expect from tommee tippee. They are widely available I purchased more online at Amazon and although I have always brought the pure beige variations with a beige trimming they are available with pink and blue trimmings to suit boys and girls. They retail at around £9 for 4 bibs which compared to other brands is a little pricey however they are cloth bibs made with really good quality materials. I would highly recommend these to any new parent to be you will not be disappointed.
Summary: A fantastic bib.
