**What is it?**

The Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Milk Feeding Bib is a soft bib especially designed for newborns, to absorb spilled milk, rather than an older bib which is designed primarily for solid foods.

**Price and Availability**

The The Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Milk Feeding Bib is available in Mothercare, Boots, Wilkinsons (where I purchased mine) and online. I have not seen these in any supermarkets as yet.

The price per bib can vary but I paid £2 on special offer, the usual price being £3.50 - £4.

**Looks**

The bib is a very soft 100% cotton bib, which has a unique padded 'collar' around it which supports baby's chin and also means drips and spills are absorbed before they can get onto the baby's clothing collar and stain it / make it smell.

The bib is available with four coloured trims - plain beige, baby blue, baby pink and a darker beige colour. The Tommee Tippee logo is stitched onto a label which protrudes from the bottom of the bib. The bib collar fits around baby's neck with about an inch of velcro, so it is adjustable to a point. The sharp velcro is on top, so even if you are only using half of it, it won't irritate baby's skin.

**Use**

In practice I found the The Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Milk Feeding Bib excellent for the first six months when my baby was exclusively breast fed. Because they do need to be washed and dried before you can use them again I did buy a few but they're ideal for taking out and ensuring that baby's best clothes aren't ruined by feeding, and the bib itself is big enough to catch any sick or dribble when burping.

The bibs do wash well, and retain that soft feeling, though you need to be careful to close the bibs (ie, attach the velcro) before putting in the washer, because the velcro can catch on the bib in the washer and pull it, making it look a bit tatty. Personally I wouldn't put them in the tumble drier because of the plastic velcro and the possibility of shrinkage, but they dry fine on the line or on the radiator, I would therefore as I've said, have at least a few on hand.

I didn't use them for every single feed, as they got dirty and so on, but they were my preferred bib as you could be almost guaranteed for a mess free feed and burp, and that then saved on having to change my daughter and wash all her clothes and so on.

**Recommend?**

Yes, I absolutely recommend the The Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Milk Feeding Bib whatever price you can get it at, because it was a well used and sensible item which meant that I could feed my daughter cleanly and in comfort. It's not something we use now she is older and has changed to plastic backed or catcher bibs, but it is something we used lots when she was very small, couldn't support her head, and was on a milk diet. I would recommend this to anyone who is expecting a baby whether they plan to breast or bottle feed, but not really to anyone with a child over 6 months as it's much more of a newborn item.

Overall I'll give the The Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Milk Feeding Bib five stars out of five because it's a well made item which works and I feel was a very worthwhile purchase.

Summary: A great bib for milk loving babies!
