Advantages: easy to use, better for teeth!

Disadvantages: can burst open when thrown by a tantruming toddler!

These are without doubt the BEST first cups you can buy for your baby!

I started both of my children on these at 4 months with water in them. Not instead of milk I hasten to add just to get them used to using a cup. I would give it to them a couple of times a day and by 6months they would both happily take water from it.

The idea behind this cup is the exact opposite of the "non spill" ones which a) still spill and b) are far harder for babies to use and worse for their teeth too as they have to suck far harder. The cup simply has a hard spout with one or two holes in it (depends whether you have a new or old one) and then the water flows out. So yes there can be a bit of spillage but babies are messy and a bit of water spillage isnt really that to vomit/milk/poo etc which are all the other fluids i'm sure you've been covered in!

The other good thing about this cup is the price- it is one of the cheapest you can buy and is available from virtually everywhere! It costs approximately £1.49.

The only negative I would say that these cups can if thrown very hard onto a tile/laminate floor burst open. I have had this happen numerous times with tantruming toddlers! This is unlikely to happen with a young baby though so don't let this put you off what is a very good cup!
