Advantages: The price and easy for baby to drink from.

Disadvantages: Gets a little grimey near the spount after a while.

When my eldest son was a baby and he was being weaned I searched high and low to find the perfect cup he could drink water out of. Having drank from a bottle for the first 6 months of his life I wanted to find something he could hold himself and drink easily out of. Unfortunately this task turned out to be harder than I first thought and I actually bought quite a few beakers before I got it right.

Before I bought my first Tommee Tippee First Cup Plus I actually tried him with many other beakers with one common problem that kept occuring, he could not suck the water out of the cup, even when I tried myself I found some of them are really hard to get the water out. He needed a free flowing cup where the water just poured out of. It was only when my neighbour suggested these that I went out and bought one.

Since I bought my first Tommee Tippee First Cup Plus I have over the years bought many more, I think they are great. The cups cost about £1.35, I buy mine from Bodycare but I think they might be slightly more expensive in other shops. They come in a range of colours, I think we have a blue, orange, red and green in our cupboard. I have 3 boys so any colour other than pink.

The cups are pretty basic, but the simplicity really works. They hold about 250ml of water and there are markers on the cup that give you measurements in milimetres. There is also a very useful marker that tells you where 17ml is, the amount of juice you should put in if making juice for your child.

The lid fits on very nicely and little hands can't take it off, so no accidents there. The spout where the child drinks out of also folds down which also avoids spills. This I have found can be done by the child and my sons have taken delight in pouring their cup upside down and watching their drink spill out.

The only complaint I have with these cups is that after a while the lid where the spout is can get a little grimy and this is almost impossible to clean. You need to try and take the spout off to clean it sufficiently and even then it doesn't always work. When this happens though I just buy another which at just £1.35 I think you can afford to do. This is why I have bought so many over the years because after a while they do get a little grimey.

I think these cups are fantastic, suitable from 4 months they are easy for babies to drink out of. A simple design that really works and after trying many other beaker I think these are by far the best on the market.

Summary: Great value for money
