**The bowl**
I love tommee tippee products as I have never had a problem with the quality or them failing to do as promised so when it came to weaning my children naturally I searched for a brand I can trust. I found these bowls in Tesco for around £5 for a 4 pack of bowls and along with the weaning spoons I decided to purchase them.
The bowls come in a variety of colours; we have them in blue and pink. They are nice and vibrant meaning they are good to look at but also functional. What I like about these bowls is they are a good size so I can use them when my children are younger and only just beginning to try puree foods but they grow with the child as they can be used for more solid foods when the baby is older too.
**In use**
Tommee tippee suggest using this bowl with their magic mat which we did try but didn't find we needed it and of course they can be used by themselves anyway. We use the weaning spoons from tommee tippee with these bowls but as they are a good size any spoon can be used. It of course has a flat bottom for sitting on the highchair to make it sit steadily.
The best feature of these bowls is the lip on the side of them. It can be awkward when you first start weaning to hold the bowl and spoon while trying to keep the mess to a minimum. With this bowl you can get a firm grip while you are feeding to make it less hassle and a lot easier to do. This simple feature actually helps improve mealtimes which I never expected when I first purchased them. Also now my son is older and becoming a lot more independent in feeding himself he can carry this bowl a lot easier because of the piece of plastic on the side of the bowl. As it is a rounded lip there is nothing that could be harmful to little one.
They are BPA free and although they suggest they should be used from six months plus I am not sure why as obviously it is the parent that uses these bowls rather than the children while they are still young. The colours of the bowl are lovely but it also stops the staining of the bowls that tend to happen with other bowls we own. Although I tend to heat our children's food up in warm water rather than the microwave this bowl can be used in it and so are perfect if that is the way you warm your child's food.
These bowls are very easy to clean they come up as good as new and can be used in the dishwasher. They do not lose any colour at all and after 5 years of use they are still useable and look perfectly new. We do like to sterilise our bowls while little one is just weaning but as they grow older we chuck them in the washing up bowl. They can be used in the dishwasher however I am not lucky enough to own one so cannot comment on how long they will last being washed in one.
**Summary**
We love these bowls they are simple and cheap and are a must have for any parent beginning to wean their child. They are widely available and although we purchased ours from Tesco you can pick them up at any supermarket, baby store or Amazon for around £5 for four bowls. I would highly recommend these bowls they are fantastic quality as always from tommee tippee and they can be used for more than weaning babies.
