A steriliser was not something I had thought I would need to buy when Leah was first born, as I was intending to breast feed and didn't think I would want to express milk for someone else to give her in a bottle. However many breast-feeding mothers prefer to do this when they are out and about, or simply so that they can leave their baby with someone else for a few hours. And of course, for a bottle-fed baby a steriliser is an absolute necessity! The recommendation is that you sterilise everything for babies up to 6 months of age, including feeding bowls and weaning spoons, but this is really a matter of personal choice. There are no absolute rights and wrongs ... Read the complete review

I bought this product while I was pregnant with my now, ten month old daughter. I have had absolutely no trouble with it. it fits six bottles (I use wide neck bottles so space shouldnt be a problem) With a tray on top for a lthe smaller things, like teats, dummies, spoons etc.) It is very quick (about 10 minutes to complete sterilisation) and compact too. Compare to microwave and cold water sterilisation I think steam comes out on top, it is so easy, you just wash the bottles, put them in, whack the water in and turn on!! It is so easy to use I intend to carry on sterilising Megans bottles etc beyond the recommended 12 month mark just to be on ... Read the complete review

This piece of equipment was lent to me by a friend before I had my baby. Determined I was going to breastfeed I didn't think I would need this until I was able to express but it didn't quite turn out like that!! After 3 weeks Amelia went on to formula (Cow and Gate see review!!) because she was sicking all my milk up. This steriliser is quick (10 mins or so) clean and easy to use, you can put 6 bottles of any type in it and lots of dummies, breast shells etc. You do need to descale it once in a while if you have hard water like us though. It is on sale at Index and I got a nearly new one for my mums house at a market ( I liked it so much I have two of ... Read the complete review

Tomys Electric Steriliser is a must. My younger sister bought me it about 7 years ago when I had my youngest son. It has 6 bottle places, and a tray at the top for as many teats and tops and dummies as you need. You put in some water and flick a switch. It takes ten minutes and then switches itself off. Excellent product. Now, 7 years on I have it out again for my second born. He is now 18 months and although I dont need to sterilise his bottles now, I do because the Tomy is so neat and clean that it makes good storage for the bottles and so easy to use that I may aswell give them a steam. Must buy product. ... Read the complete review

I bought the Tomy six bottle steam steriliser after using cold water sterilisers for my first two children and what an excellent buy. It is so quick and easy to use and also a lot cheaper than other makes. You can easily get all six bottles in with all the gadgets to go with them. I have used it for my last two pregnancies and would recommend it to anyone, although it doesn't seem to be as available in the shops as some other makes. ... Read the complete review
