“ Brand: Toys R Us / Type: Breast Pumps „
The Toys R Us breast pump didn?t really meet my needs. Being an expectant Mum when I chose it, I suppose I didn?t really know what I wanted, but as a battery pump seemed less time-consuming and more powerful than a hand-pump, I believed that this would be the most convenient for me. I began to express as instructed by midwife, about two weeks after my daughter was born, by then I had a good supply of milk and expressing the milk was an ideal solution to constantly breast-feeding. It also gave my husband the opportunity to feed out daughter, and free me up for some much needed sleep. It didn?t work. Firstly, the batteries wear out really quickly, which more or less weakens the suction, which wasn?t all that strong to start off with. The settings adjuster was a small dial, which you need to adjust while the pump is attached. As the dial is small, I found it difficult to adjust the suction with my comparatively big hand, and also as it is a dial, getting the suction comfortably correct was a near-impossible feat for me. You can express directly into the bottle they supply for you, but as the bottle is small, you have to stop halfway through to pour it into another bottle, refit and start all over again. It did have some great accessories, the bottle which my daughter particularly favoured, breast pads, size adjusters that type of thing, but after much perseverance I gave up with it and expressed by hand, which seemed to be quicker and more effective. My initial assumption was that a battery operated pump would make expressing easier, can?t see how in this case.
I bought the Toys R Us battery operated breast pump and found myself returning it the next day!I had loads of hassle getting a refund, but I eventually got one by insisting that I hadn't used it, of course, I had used it. I found the suction wasn't very good. I have two other children that I breastfed for a while and I used a plain old basic Boots breastpump with them and it did a brilliant job. I don't rate the Toys R Us breatpump all that much because I found expressing my milk by hand was a lot faster! Which is not meant to be the case...I was expecting the pump to be a lot better and faster. I was disappointed in this product and did not live up to my expectations at all. You got some nice accessories with it - a bottle(wide neck) with all the bits and even got breastpads! I did find the product easy to use, but I found that overall the product just wasn't doing its job properly.
I just had my baby less than five months ago and due to the fact that my son did not want anything else but breast milk, i had to resort to expressing my breast milk which i had never done before. I tried other breast pumps which were the ones which you pumped manually they did not work until i heard from a friend about the toys-ur-us breast pump. It only cost about £19 plus and its battery operated. For someone like me who has never used a breast pump before it was quite helpful. All i did was put it to my breast, press the little sunction button, and bob is not my uncle. It really worked for me. What took me attimes a whole week to fill an 8 ouce bottle now takes me 2 days. It also stimulates the breast and you can regulate the sunction force from high to low.
