Advantages: cheap and easy to use

Disadvantages: none

I just had my baby less than five months ago and due to the fact that my son did not want anything else but breast milk, i had to resort to expressing my breast milk which i had never done before. I tried other breast pumps which were the ones which you pumped manually they did not work until i heard from a friend about the toys-ur-us breast pump. It only cost about £19 plus and its battery operated. For someone like me who has never used a breast pump before it was quite helpful. All i did was put it to my breast, press the little sunction button, and bob is not my uncle. It really worked for me. What took me attimes a whole week to fill an 8 ouce bottle now takes me 2 days. It also stimulates the breast and you can regulate the sunction force from high to low.

Whilst the Toys-R-Us pump is apparently well made and cheap - be warned - this does not replicate the same function as the Madela and similar more expensive pumps.
My partner and I were incorrectly informed that they were exactly the same action as the Madela pumps, but they are not
Whilst the Madela automatically simulates the suckling action of an infant, the Toys-R-Us pump does not do this automatically.
Instead there is a small button on the back of the pump body which must be alternately pressed and released to break or make the pumps sucking action.
This, due to medical reasons, is not possible in our case and would bear considering for any nursing mother who may have problems with arthritis or similar movement restrictions to her fingers.
If you need an automatic suckling style pump then the Toys-R-Us is not suitable and sadly you'll have to pay a lot more (as we did!)

I'm glad You got on ok with this breaspump. I can't help but wonder why we both had very different experiences!! I suppose we all react differently to different products! Who knows?!?!?!
