Advantages: larger then moses basket, swinging feature, easy to assemble

Disadvantages: cant move from room to room easily, meaning cant take it downstairs for child to sleep in

When I was pregnant with my first back in 2005 we had decided we preferred the look of the cribs as opposed to the moses baskets as looked stronger, safer and more comfatable. My nan had agreed to buy us one as a present so after looking at many this one caught our eyes.

Bought from toys r us for about £60, it is a lovely swinging crib which comes complete with poles to attach drapes to. It has a antique pine finish to it and looks lovely. The crib at each end has solid panels, whilst along the side is bars, it is then set on the legs and has a release button, so you can either have it stationery or release the button giving you the ability to rock your child to sleep. There is then a metal rod which attaches to the top end, which allows you safely to hange your drapes from, making it look simply gorgeous. It comes complete with matress, which is very thin but seems perfectly comfatable and alos has a plastic covering, ideal for all the sick.

It comes flat pack, but is relatively straight forward to put together, we also bought the bedding set as wanted it to look perfect with all the drapes, which it did. However after a while the drapes can become annoying, when up several times in the night, to the point with my daughter we never bothered yet the crib still looked perfect.

We have used these with both my previous children and will be doing again this time. It is more spacious then a moses basket, ideally good for bigger babies like mine and can be used safely from birth to approx 6mths without any problems or worries of it tipping over. As opposed to moses baskets which are completely enclosed the open bars mean its easier to keep a close eye on them and if are difficult to settle the swinging motion is really sooting. Easy to dismantle and store away for future use.

Summary: a great buy and getting ready to use it for the 3rd time, wouldnt change it for the world
