TU Pop Over Bibs
Advantages: Washable cheap and nice designs.
Disadvantages: Mess can seep through material.
I Brought some from these bibs from Sainsbury's in store when my daughter was smaller, from memory they cost about £2 which was for a pack of three it wasn't much more then that anyway.
Even though they were on the hangers with lots of other bibs these stood out as I liked the boats on them. They also done boys boat ones which didn't have the pinks on them and more blue and slightly different designs.
The hole where the babies head goes through is elasticated and the material of the actual bib is like a towellen (apologies I can't spell it) material so nice and soft and absorbs spills. 65% cotton, 35% polyester. The pop over the head idea of these bibs means that it can't come undone whilst feeding or be fiddled with.
It's important to use a bib on baby in their early stages of feeding to protect their clothes as believe me there will be mess from dribbles and hands picking up the food and then some being spat back out too.
I would easily go through all three bibs in one day which is why I brought them as the washing machine was quick enough to keep up with washing the ones I already had.
These are washable up to 40c and they do wash fine but occasionally they would still have a bright orange stain on them and need extra treatment with stain remover. Those of you that have fed babies will be aware of the bright food colours. These were washed over and over again and still kept their shape well and didn't go bobbley at all.
The one issue I had with these was that, actually two issues, sometimes the food would seep through the bib onto my daughters cloths therefore not protecting them and doing the job they are meant for. The other thing is that when the bib was really messy it could get a bit tricky to pull it back over the head without making more mess especially when baby has lots of hair like my girl does and did have a a small baby too.
Summary: Nice to look at and easy to wash, saves some of the mess going onto clothes yet some still does.
