Kiehl's Creme de Corps
by sparkle1004 Kiehls is a brand which started out life as a pharmacy back in 1851 and one that sells beauty products for the hair, face and body. I have heard Kiehl's Crème De Corps mentioned in so many different magazines over the years but have never got round to buying it due to the price. While I am happy to splash out on beauty products, when it ... comes to body moisturisers I don't find it necessary because my favourite ones are all around the £10 mark, but I recently gave into the temptation and purchased the product. What does the product do? This best selling product is a rich body moisturiser which promises to keep your skin hydrated all day long. The luxurious cream claims to nourish and nurture your body with skin loving ingredients that will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth to the touch. How does the product work? The product contains Cocoa butter which is one of nature's greatest moisturisers and comes from the seeds of the Cocoa plant. The substance melts at body temperature and it is absorbed instantly by the skin. It is incredibly hydrating and leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth. The butter nourishes the skin with vitamins and as it is an antioxidant, it will prevent the skin from aging prematurely. Shea butter is included for much the same reason and moisturises the skin deeply. Beta-Carotene also helps to keep the skin looking youthful and as it contains Vitamin A, it conditions and strengthens the skin. Sesame Oil is present in order to give the skin a deep hydration which leaves the skin soft and supple. It nourishes and strengthens the skin with vitamins and fatty acids, and it also has healing properties. Olive Oil improves the overall condition of the skin while Almond Oil nourishes the skin. Obviously the inclusion of this ingredient makes the product unsuitable for use on those who suffer with a nut allergy. How do you use the product? The product is to be applied in the same way as any other body cream. It should be applied to clean, dry skin and smoothed over the whole body in an upwards direction until it has been fully absorbed. It can also be reapplied as necessary but I don't think the product is suitable for use on the face. I certainly wouldn't use it on my anyway. Packaging and Price The product comes enclosed within a large plastic bottle which is translucent so you can see the product inside. This is handy because you know exactly how much of the product you have left. In order to dispense the product, you push down on the pump mechanism and the product is released. It is fairly easy to control the amount that you want to use. The label has no images but has almost an essay of black writing which gives you more information about the product. The product is available in a variety of different sizes. I chose to buy the 250ml bottle which cost me £17 but there is also a 500ml bottle which obviously costs more. A travel sized bottle is also available. The product can be bought from large department stores such as Boots and from a whole host of different websites. Extra Thoughts This product has a rich and luxurious consistency and it has a yellow colour that looks incredibly similar to actual butter. The product has an incredibly subtle scent that doesn't really smell of anything in particular so that's good if you don't like the scent of your body creams to mingle with your perfume. I love fragranced body butters, especially The Righteous Butter by Soap & Glory, but I'd rather than have no scent than a herbal or floral one which is not really my thing. The pump mechanism is easy to use and a nice amount of the cream is released each time that I push down on the top so you don't need to get all your arm muscles working just to access the product. I think this form of packaging is useful because you are not constantly exposing it to the air and you are not putting your fingers in the product periodically so it is more hygienic. Despite the cream being very rich, it is actually absorbed much quicker by my skin than I initially thought that it would be. It sinks into my skin and instantly makes it feel hydrated and more comfortable. It doesn't make me feel sticky or unclean as some rich products can and other than a healthy sheen, it leaves no greasy residue on the surface of my skin. As it is absorbed fairly quickly, I don't have to wait long before I can get dressed or climb into bed. The results on my skin are fantastic. Kiehls tell us that you need to use the cream repeated over 10 days before we see proper results but the results were visible immediately on my skin. My legs are incredibly moisturised, really soft and they look in a very good condition too. This cream banishes all signs of dry and flaky skin which will hopefully mean that my tan will last longer. The effects of the cream are long lasting and if I apply the product in the morning, then I won't feel the need to reapply the product again until the night time. It has had beneficial effects on my stubborn dry areas such as my knees and elbows with repeated use and those areas are now much softer than before. I have also found this product doubles up as an after sun cream because it is so hydrating and because of all the antioxidants which it contains. If you find that you love this product as much as I do then you may be interested in the other products in the Crème de corps range. This includes the Crème de corps Soy Milk & Honey whipped body butter, the lightweight body lotion SPF30, the body polish or the nurturing washing cream. There are also collection sets available where you can purchase them all. Overall, this product lived up to all the hype that I have been hearing over the years. It is highly moisturising and its effects are long lasting. The lotion is rich and luxurious without an overpowering scent and it visibly improves the condition of the skin. It is a pricey product but worth every penny in my opinion. Read the complete review |

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturiser
by TiredCloud Kiehl's isn't a brand I've ever considered using before until my friend told me about it, and that's because I never actually heard of it. My friend kept emphasising how good they are, so I did a little research and saw they do this Ultra Facial Moisturiser. I immediately found it very appealing because a good facial moisturiser is what ... I've been looking for quite a while. I have quite dry skin on the bridge of my nose and a little on my forehead, I've tried countless products and so many of them only work for a couple of hours, if at all. When purchasing the product the first thing I noticed was the price, my eyes bulged and I thought to myself, it better be worth it! For a 125ml bottle it costs £24 and when it comes to facial products I'm always one who would rather pay that little bit extra for a good product that works than a cheaper product that isn't as effective. The packaging of the product is quite plain and simple, the bottle itself is white with a label giving a brief description, directions and list of ingredients. There is two ways to open the bottle you can either unscrew the top or flip the cap which has a little hole on the top allowing you to squeeze the bottle which will squirt the moisturiser out. The first thing I did was unscrew the top to see what it smells like. there isn't any fragrant scent to it, just a subtle smell of cream which I assume is just the ingredients. The moisturiser itself isn't a creamy thick texture but it isn't extremely runny either. I would describe the consistency to be a little on the thin and runny side but with a good balanced flow. When applying, I simply dabbed the tip of my index finger into the moisturiser and rubbed it into my dry needed areas. A little bit is all that is needed because it seems to spread in the skins surface very well, I think if you apply too much in one area then it may feel a little oily so it is best to just do a bit at a time. Once applied I didn't feel any greasiness or discomfort, sometimes after apply moisturiser to the bridge of my nose it begins to tingle but this doesn't give me any uncomfortable sensations. Admittedly after using the moisturiser for the first time my skin did not feel incredibly super duper silky soft, it might be an ultra moisturiser but I'm not expecting miracles over night. Especially since that area on my face can be quite, crusty. However, within a week I noticed a difference in the appearance of my skin, it felt and looked a lot more hydrated and softer. I maintained applying the moisturiser once a day and now my skin has no dry patches and feels a lot more smoother. The product for me lasts quite a while. One bottle takes about 3 to 4 months to fully use as I'm only using a couple of dabs once a day, every day. Due to the great performance of the product and how long it lasts, I definitely think it is worth the money. The bottle states "for all skin types" I do think those with dry skin would find this very beneficial. I usually purchase mine from Space.NK. Read the complete review |

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturiser
by melloncollieclie I recived two sachets of this as a free sample, one of which I gave to my sister and have now regretted!. I have awkward skin, it's combination, full of clogged pores and generally never quite right so finding a moisturiser that will moisturise effectively without drying my skin out and without clogging my pores up even more ... is an ever present challenge. I managed to make my one free sachet last about a week, so a little goes a long way which is just as well considering the price, and was rather dissapointed to return to my regular moisturiser afterwards (but I know what I will be replacing it with). This moisturises well and the moisture lasts, my skin was left soft, suple and most importantly; non greasy! I didn't notice any more blocked pores than usual which was another bonus. My skin also looked good, which as a minimal make up wearer was fabulous! To conclude this does everything a basic moisturiser should do and it does it well, it is however on the expensive side though seeing as my free sample lasted me a good few days you only need a little so a full sized bottle should last a good while. It also contains SPF 13. Read the complete review |
