Advantages: Leaves my hands hydrated, soft and smooth
Disadvantages: The price
My hands can get dry, tight and uncomfortable, especially after cleaning or a long day at work. I love having a nice hand cream on stand by in my handbag to relieve all this and my most recent purchase is the Ultimate Strength Hand Salve by Kiehls.
What does the product do?
The product has been specifically designed for those with dry hand that are constantly on the go. It promises to soothe, nourish, hydrate and condition the skin and nails with natural ingredients such as Avocado Oil and Sesame Oil. The product promises to form a barrier of protection around the hands to prevent them from losing any moisture and therefore feeling hydrated all day.
How do you use the product?
You use the product in the same way as you would use any other hand cream. You apply the cream generously to the hands and massage the cream into the skin until it has been fully absorbed. You can reapply the product as often as required.
Packaging and Price
The product comes in a pure white plastic tube and there is lots of writing on the front which gives further information about the product. It has a flip top lid that is also white and it is easy to open and close the product, even when your hands still have cream on them. The product will cost you around £14 for a 75ml tube or you can get double that amount in a larger 150ml bottle for only a few pounds more so that might the more economical option if you really like the cream. It can be bought from large department stores and from a variety of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product doesn't really have a scent. This is a good thing in that the cream will suit everyone but a bad thing in that I really like cream to have delicious scent like Hand Food by Soap & Glory does. It's not a big problem for me though. The cream is white in colour as I had expected and the cream has a really thick and luxurious consistency. Despite the cream being so thick, it is still absorbed fairly quickly into the skin so you won't be massaging the product into the hands for ages. You don't need to use much to get the desired results and I have found that a little goes a long way which is reassuring when you consider the price.
The product doesn't make my hands feel sticky or greasy, and I am able to touch things pretty soon after I have applied the cream without having to worry about leaving finger prints everywhere. It feels completely comfortable on my skin and hasn't caused me any irritations or discomfort. It is really hydrated and it removes any signs of dry or dull skin immediately after the first application. It also stops that horrible tight feeling that I hate straight away which is a really good thing. My skin feels soft and smooth after use and my hands look conditioned and healthy. It also seems to be making my nails a bit stronger too. The cream has long lasting effects and I don't feel the need to reapply it more than twice a day.
Conclusion
This is a great cream for relieving feelings of dryness and tightness from the hands after the very first application. It leaves the hands feeling conditioned, soft and smooth. You don't need to use much so the bottle will last you a long time and the product has long lasting results. It's an expensive product but I would repurchase it again.
Summary: A great hand cream which hydrates dry hands and leaves them feeling soft
