Kitchen Craft Let's Make Dolphin Shaped Sandwich Cutter
by linzeelou
Since having my own flat, I have become a big kid when it comes to kitchen accessories and gadgets etc. I love buying weird, random things that I will probably only use once or twice. Something I came across recently was sandwich cutters in the shape of dolphins. Ok, I know these are really for children to make eating more fun but hey, ... if I want to eat dolphin shaped sandwiches at 25, I will. My flatmates actually think it's pretty funny.
The sandwich cutter itself is made from blue plastic and obviously in the shape of dolphins. There is one dolphin on each side with a small heart shaped hole in the middle which separates them. The edges of the cutter aren't sharp at all so in order to cut the bread, you will need to use a fair bit of force. The cutter fits nicely into a normal sized sandwich (without cutting it in half) and due to it fitting inside, it does take off the crusts which is a nice bonus for children.
The first time I used this, I got a little frustrated. At the ends of the cutter are the tails and fins of the dolphins and because of the shape, the bread is a little tricky to remove. I know these are really meant for children and because of the edges which aren't sharp, I can see kids wanting to cut their own bread. If this is the case, I think children will have a bit of difficulty getting their sandwiches out of the cutter in one piece. Unfortunately, there isn't really a way that this cutter could have been made better unless it were bigger and then it wouldn't fit in a sandwich properly.
Another good thing about this product is how easily it can be cleaned. I don't have a dishwasher so I have to hand wash everything but this is done with no trouble at all. It only takes a quick wipe around with a cloth that has been in normal washing up water and it will be lovely and clean again. I have found that not much really sticks to the plastic and if it does, like a sauce for example, it is easily removed.
Although this is technically a sandwich cutter, it can also be used for other things like cookies which is a nice bonus really. Right now, this can be found on Amazon for 1p unlike the other sandwich cutters in the range which are more expensive. Read the complete review |

Kitchen Craft Let's Make Dinosaur Shaped Sandwich Cutter
by headsore
We have had our Kitchen Craft Dolphin Sandwich Cutter now for about three months and we bought it quite cheaply from Amazon (no postage to be paid either, so all good there). We paid £2.50 for them and theycame very well packaged and arrived very quuickly. We bought it for our little lad as he can be a bit of a fussy eater and he won't ... eat his crsusts on his sandwiches, no matter how hard me and his mum try to persuade him - he says he doesn't want 'curly hair' so he shouldn't have to eat the crusts!
The Kitchen Craft Dolphin Sandwich Cutter is made from solid durable and hardwearing firm plastic. It is blue in colour and has no sharp edges at all so the little lad can happily make his own sandwiches himself very easily without any fear of him cutting or harming himself.
We make all sorts of sandwiches with this brilliant little cutter which measures around ten or eleven square centimetres - I have not actually taken a tape measure to it but this is just a rough estimate. We find it works better on cheaper loaves (and the tinly sliced ones are the best). It cuts cleanly through the bread and gives a great outline of the dolphins. The only thing we noticed however, is that it is not very detailed, i.e. there is no snout on the dolphin, but there is the basic shape.
We use this also to make dolphin toast, dolphin shaped biscuits and scones and all sorts of lfavoured sandwiches. It is really great fun to use at birthday parties and kiddies love to eat them and we find the andwiches always seem to disappear faster if they are dolphin shaped for some reason!
They are three dimensional, good strong cutters. They wash simply and easily in warm soapy water or alternatively you can pop them into the dishwasher if you prefer. They also come with a twelve month gurantee and we all recommend them.
Great fun!

Lakeland Dino Cutter
by MikeBorry
Wow! <<<<< That says it all! No need to write anything else just simply >>>>> Wow!
My nan bought this dinosaur shaped cutter from Lakeland paying £2.49, she bought other stuff as well but she did buy this for me.... Well for the kids!
I am so impressed with this, it isn't just for ... sandwiches it can be used for anything that can be cut. It's made from a strong clear green plastic and cut's through a ham sandwich with ease and takes the crusts off which is a bonus as my kids refuse to eat crusts....
My 4 year old is fasinated with this, sandwiches, pizza, toast have all been dino shaped since this has come to our house. And importantly it's got my fussy eater, eating really well!
He finds food fun now and will eat everything on his plate, my 8 year old also loves it and my 10 year old thinks I am mad when I give him dino shaped sarnies! I'll have to do them for his packed lunch one day hehe!
When pressed into a sandwich you are left with two dinosaur shaped sarnies with no crusts.
Fab for kids and adults, as I quite like the novelty of having shaped sarnies too!
It is dishwasher safe. Read the complete review |
