“ Brand: Cookingtime / Product Type: Potato Masher „
I used to own a plastic potato masher, but I found that it kept falling apart and that it was quite hard to use, so I went out and decided to buy this stainless steel potato masher in Leeds market, it cost me just £5, which I thought was not too bad for something that should work better than the one I had.
So I took it home and washed it before my first use which I always have done when ever I buy something new. I did my first set of mashed potato and was ready to still have some hard work of mashing the potato.
I got hold of the masher and was instantly impressed by the handle, it had finger grooves in the handle so that it was easier to grip hold of while mashing. On my other masher I used to have a little rest half way through as i found the handle used to hurt my hand but not this one it was really easy to grip and to use.
I also found that the masher did not take as long as my plastic one to get all the mashed done properly, it got all the lumps out in half the time my other masher did which I thought was great.
I have always found it hard to clean mashers if you just leave them on the side and let the potato dry in, so I have always been in the habit of rinsing the masher before I sit down to eat. I also do that with this one so when it comes to washing up all it needs is a little wipe, so it is really easy to clean. I would not know how easy it is though if you leave the potato to dry in. I can not also comment on whether it is dishwasher safe, as I don't own a dishwasher so I have never checked.
I would recommend this to anyone, its so easy to use and the handle is made for comfort so you don't get sore hands while mashing away, and for the £5 i paid it was a really good buy, I would buy another should this ever break or get misplaced.
