When my daughter turned 5 years old she wasn't eligible for free school milk at school break times any more (booo!), so we were required to provide her with a drinks bottle/flask to take water to school instead.
Last year my daughter and I went to the cinema to see the Disney Pixar film 'Brave' and my daughter has been hooked on the film ever since! Whilst browsing in The Disney Store last summer holidays we came across a Brave flask. We decided to buy it, along with a matching Brave lunch bag.
This particular flask is a Disney Store Exclusive and can only be brought from The Disney Store. There are 2 similar Brave flasks available but ours is exactly as pictured above. It cost £6.00 which I think is pretty reasonable price.
The flask has a lovely design and is sure to please all Brave fans. It's bright, pretty and features Merida on one side (the princess/main character from the film) and 3 bear cubs on the other side (which are actually Merida's triplet brothers!). It also has a pink material carry strap attached to it which is handy for holding on to or putting over your shoulder whilst walking the flask to and from school etc. The strap can easily be adjusted to suit children of any age/size.
The Brave flask is a good size and holds plenty of liquid. I fill the flask up to the top every school day and my daughter rarely comes home with an empty bottle. The height is approximately 15cm and the diameter is approximately 8cm. I'd say it's slightly shorter and slightly more 'chunky' than some flasks. This is a good thing as it allows my daughter to get a good grip of the flask with both hands whilst drinking from it. It is made from a thick plastic material which is really robust. My daughters flask has been in use almost every day for 6 months and is still in near perfect condition. The flask is a blue colour but is also transparent which is very handy as it allows you to see how much you're filling up, how much your child has drunk and is also useful for when diluting juice etc. The flask has a blue flip-up lid which pops up when you press the pink button - this is an incredibly easy task for little ones and is very safe too. Under the lid is a plastic white drinking nozzle. You need to suck on the nozzle to get the liquid out - it doesn't drip out if you hold it upside down. I've been trying to find a leak proof flask for YEARS so this is a massive advantage for me!
The flask is not suitable for dishwasher or microwave use. It is also recommend for children 3+ years. It's very easy to clean inside and out. The neck of the bottle is very wide so fitting a sponge/cloth inside is an easy task.
Would I recommend? Absolutely yes!
