“ Brand: Ella Doran / Type: Chopping Board „
This is a review of the Ella Doran Chopping Board or 'Worktop Saver' at it is more poshly titled. I picked up this board from the Cook 'n' Dine shop at my local outlet shopping centre because the pattern spoke to me and I wanted to brighten up the kitchen with some accessories.
I have lots of these!
I have had several other similar boards, in the nineties I went for a text based one (chop, slice etc) that went with our dinner plates! In the noughties I chose a serene board with pebbles on it that was very calming. In the meantime I was bought one for a house move with cats on that I use for a feeding station so what for the decade of 2010?
The Ella Doran board features a theme that comes in a range of kitchen accessories, I have seen it in TK Maxx also. It looks really pretty and has what look like smarties lined up in vertical rows with a heart pattern in between.
The colours are great and his is what attracted me to the product. It may not be for everyone but I love the pinks and blues and smartie type colours.
We use this on the surface next to the kitchen back door as somewhere to hold our recycling before it goes outside. Things don't stay here long but it's a good holding zone that can be easily cleaned.
The board states that it is heat resistant up to 90 degrees. It advises not to immerse in water (I have had the backing come off earlier models due this mistake) so to clean you just wipe with a damp cloth and I use an anti bacterial spray. It is not suitable for use in the dishwasher.
I paid £5.95 for this in the Cook 'n' Dine shop and the RRP should have been £10. It will last decades so I think this is a fair price paid.
I like these worktop savers as they brighten up the kitchen and provide a clean surface to prepare food on. I use it every day and enjoy the colours. Every kitchen should have a worktop saver and the better the design, the nicer it is to use!
