Ikea Bygel Containers
Advantages: Cheap, Convenient, Flexible
Disadvantages: No Steel Colour, Have to Have Drainage Holes
These Ikea Bygel Containers are designed for use as part of the Bygel Hanging Storage System, though they can be hung on the wall without a rail if desired. There are groves in the back of the containers to hang on nails, and we've done this in the kitchen with two of them to hold some cooking utensils and dish washing items in. These pots can be simply lifted off the nails when you want to use them or need to clean them.
We've also got six of these pots, in black and white, hanging on a 100cm long Bygel rail, along with a series of chunky s-hooks, for the Mrs to use as a craft storage system. It's worked out really well for her, and these containers not only look great and don't take up too much space - they're also a really convenient way for her to store and easily access her variety of craft tools. The back of each container clips simply but firmly onto the rail and doesn't move around or bow once mounted, but can be removed fairly easily when required.
There are four little holes in the bottom of each pot for drainage purposes, and this is particularly handy for use in the kitchen or bathroom. There's no need to remove the pot that holds our washing up items in it, any water residue will just flow out of these drainage holes and into the sink below. In the craft room, the Mrs has popped a little bag into the bottom of the containers which hold her extra fine pens and pencils and this stops them from slipping down through the holes. It would have been nice if they'd offered some pots without the holes though.
The colour choices here are white/clear, black, dark blue, light blue, bright pink and purple. These colours compliment the Bygel s-hook colours, though there are no steel coated ones to match the actual rail which I think is a shame. It would look much nicer in the kitchen if you could get these in metal. At 50p per container though, you really can't grumble. I'd definetely recommend them and the Bygel storage system in general.
Summary: Highly Recommended
