Heroes For Kids - In the Night Garden Makka Pakka Drinks Bottle.....

Jack has been using large beakers now to have his juice in for quite some time and it came to my notice that he was able to drink out of a sports bottle just as well as he could the specially designed children's beakers from Boots and such like places. The specially designed drink beakers can sometimes cost more money than these sports bottles and therefore I thought I would try this particular sports bottle.

I saw it for £2.50 pence in my local Matalan store a few months back and for that price I thought it was worth a try. The usual kids beaker we buy from Boots is nearly £4 a go and Jack looses them like nobodies business.
This particular bottle design grabbed my attention because it had one of the characters from In the Night Garden on it and at that time that was one of Jack's (and mine) favourite programmes from CBeebies. The design is printed on and does look rather cheap and had it not been a well known character on the bottle I don't think I would have looked at it twice.

The bottle holds a fair amount of juice although there is no marker to say exactly how much. It is not easy to fill up with juice because of the screw cap being very small. I use a large water filter jug from the fridge to give to jack and I will always make quite a mess when trying to get the water into the small opening of this bottle. However once in the actual sports lid dispenser works well and allows a good amount out when sucked on. It has never leaked and the screw cap fits neatly onto the bottle.
The bottle itself is a funny shape and not round like other bottles we have tried. The back of the bottle is almost flat but this really does make it easier to hold for smaller hands. Jack seems much more comfortable holding onto this shape bottle rather than a large round one and I would have to say this is the best design I have seen in a sport bottle.

Jack has had no difficulties when drinking from this bottle and at first he like it a lot because of who is had pictured on the front. Now the picture does not really interest him and he is just interested in getting his juice.
The price I paid I think to be a good deal. It is far cheaper than the beakers I usually buy and the product works well. The character on the front was the main reason for purchase in the beginning but now it does not matter at all. The bottle does work well and Jack found it easier to hold than the others. I have bought similar bottles since this one, they have been cheaper but they certainly have not been as comfortable for Jack as this one was.

I think a four star rating is right for this product and a RECOMMENDATION. The only problem is the fact that the hole was so small making it harder to fill up. This however probably affected the facts that the bottle never leaked and the lid always fit so well.

I hope this has been of some help/interest to you.

Summary: a good drinks bottle
