As well as having bought a number of Jamie Oliver products for our Kitchen since our wedding we also received a number of different gadgets as gifts and now with our own place again we've had an opportunity to use them. One of the more frequently used items in our house would appear to be the Jamie Oliver Easy Scoop Ice Cream scoop, which seems to get an outing at least twice a week and has proven to be far more durable and tougher than any Ice Cream scoop we have owned previously.

Our Previous Scoops

You see the problem we had previously was when ice cream got a little too hard in the freezer, our ice cream scoops had a tendency to snap at the handle, leaving the scoop wedged in the ice cream. It was for this reason that we added a much more robust Ice Cream scoop to our wedding gift list in the hope that we could get away from the cheap ones that break and find something a lot stronger with the ability to carve through straight from the freezer hard Ice Cream.

This Scoop

Since unpacking and starting to use this scoop we have found that it cuts through hard Ice Cream with little resistance. The problem we had with previous scoops is gone and through the zinc alloy head and the solid, thick neck joining the head to the handle it seems to have a much more robust nature to it. The handle itself feels substantial and with the solid connection to the head it removes the flimsy connection we had found with our previous scoops.

We found that the look of the Jamie Oliver Easy scoop was rather stylish from its black gloss handle to the zinc alloy head it looks like a decent, robust piece of Kitchen equipment. We have been very impressed with the scoop and find that our old worries of a slight bend under the slightest pressure have gone. This gives us confidence when scooping even the hardest Ice Cream and that is exactly what we were looking for.

It's also not a huge gadget measuring in at only 18cm long with a maximum diameter of 5cm's it makes it an item that is very easy to store in the limited Kitchen storage space we have in our current Kitchen. For those of you lucky enough to have a Dishwasher it is safe to be cleaned in here, but for the rest of us it cleans up quickly and nicely leaving no marks or blemishes on the zic alloy when washed by hand.

Another Decent Product

This is another great product developed by Jamie Oliver and the team at DKB, who have teamed up to great effect on a number of Kitchen gadgets. This is probably one of those that gets the most use in our house and we are both incredibly impressed by it. The Jamie Oliver Easy Scoop Ice Cream Scoop has really solved a problem that we have encountered for a number of years. It currently retails for £9.60 on amazon, but it is one of those items that really justifies the, you get what you pay for saying.

At this price it is a little bit more expensive than you would perhaps like to pay for an Ice Cream Scoop, but at least you have the added bonus with this, that it actually feels like it will last a few years rather than the few months a cheaper alternative would last.
