A great gadget for any kitchen!!

By now if you have read any of my reviews, you will have noticed that I tend to buy all my kitchen equipment from Tesco's Direct. Well this item is no exception, I wasn't looking for one or indeed wanted one, but when I saw it on sale at Tesco's for £7.50 I thought it looked a good buy, so as usual I done my normal thing of comparing the price to Amazon to give me an idea of how much this usually goes for.
Well what a good find as Amazon was asking £14.08 I decided to purchase one straight away and good job I did, because a few days later Tesco put it back up to their normal price of £29.97 !!!!!

Since purchasing this item it has been in constant use as I love it. It comes with three long white plastic pieces, two house the stainless steel blades, one does small dicing and julienne and the other does large dicing and julienne. So for example the smaller blade could be used to make french fries and the larger one would give you chunkier chips. The other part is the base and this has a large risen round squared area, this is what you put your veg/fruit ect.. on. Sliding what blade you decide to use onto this part and your almost ready to use it. Next you must decide which plastic pot you will use, this comes with two complete with airtight lids. If you are just dicing a small amount then the small pot will be fine.
The pot twists round onto the top of the blade part and is nice and secure. Now the good bit choose what you want to dice and lift the top part up and place for example an apple on the risen squares and pull the top handle down and within seconds it is all cut up!!

I love doing onions with this as I peel them very quickly and put it under the blade and hey presto they are all chopped up without a tear in sight and thats the truth.
I cut apples up for my grandsons which they love ( I also do my apples this way as I'm too lazy to bite into one!) I also dice up swedes, parsnips, turnips ect.. ready for my casseroles. It is a breeze to use and what the beauty is about this great gadget is that it all comes apart to wash really easy with no bits you can't get to, but be very careful when washing the blades as they are very sharp. Under the base there are 2 clips that hold the raised area up that the veg/fruit goes on, just pull the clips forward and this will just slide out for washing.

I have used mine many, many times and I'm surprised that it hasn't gone discoloured, but it is still the same whiteness as when I purchased this.
I'm watching Teso's all the time at the moment as my daughter really wants one of these, usually I give her mine if she likes it, but this is going to stay with me this time!!!

I wouldn't pay Tesco's asking price as that is a bit steep I think, but £15.00 on Amazon then I would as I think that it is worth that!
This Nicer Dicer comes with it's own little recipe book as well, which has some interesting little ideas

Excellent product to have in the kitchen

I bought this JML nicer dicer after seeing it on the shopping channel a while ago. I didn't buy it on the shopping channel, I actually bought it from Dunelm Mill for £25. I had been looking for one of these ever since seeing it on tv.

I did think £25 was a bit expensive for what I would use this product for, I mainly wanted it for dicing onions etc, however I am actually quite pleased with this product. My boyfriend likes to take a fruit salad everyday to work and I find this so handy to use, to cut up the fruit. You have to chop your fruit up first, you cant put a whole piece of fruit in, for example a banana, you have to chop it up into three first, then put it in the nicer dicer and push down, and it dices it perfectly. I use this on apple and melon too.

This is also great to dice your vegetables for tea, it easily cuts up leaks, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, parsnips and carrots. The more harder vegetables like carrots and potatoes I do have to cut them up into small pieces or it struggles to cut these, the blades aren't really strong enough, so I tend to just use this dicer for softer vegetables instead, as it really does safe time. It is so much quicker than cutting them all up by hand.

This nicer dicer is white, and comes with a detachable container where all the diced food is stored. It is so easy to clean and store away too as it is so light and small. I feel this is a safer option to use to cut up vegetables rather than using sharp knifes, as there is so chance you can cut yourself, anybody could use it, it is so easy to use.

I've had my nicer dicer about a month now, and I don't know what I did without it! I love using it, it makes cutting up vegetables and fruit so much easier, tidier and safer and I highly recommend these, at £25 it is expensive but I think it is worth the money.
