K & Co Faux Leather Placemat Set
Advantages: Smart, worth the money for such nice looking items and great quality
Disadvantages: Don't get white!
Recently my 4 place dining table and chairs decided to quit on me. It was one on offer in Ikea last year and though looked nice enough and modern I had my stupid flatmate put it up for me. I'm informed the reason the legs gave away finally is cos she screwed the legs up too tightly and ruined something called the threads within them. Even my chairs for the year I had the set were wonky as hell lol.
So I decided I needed to spend out more and get myself a new, less wonky (hopefully) dining set and I spotted one and ordered it from K&co reduced to a hundred pounds from two hundred and so pleased with the saving I was that I decided to spend the bit I saved on a few bits and pieces to spruce my kitchen up a little.
As my table has a glass top and my kitchen is white in colour I decided after tormenting myself long enough to get these in a white colour to keep my kitchen looking clean. You can of course get this set in other colour options which are Black, Cappuccino, Red, White, Purple and Deep Turquoise and each set contains four place-mats, each measuring 27 cm x 27 cm and four coasters which measure 10 cm x 10 cm each. So a four place setting this is obviously!
Made from faux leather, to you and I means it looks like leather and well.......it isn't! It has a gentle sheen to it (in all colours) and everything is square in shape with a neat and perfectly stitched pattern of 9 squares on the large place-mats and two on each coaster and all items are completely plain on the back and smooth.
These look very smart indeed and are all two mats tightly fitted together meaning that these are all completely heat resistant and they don't slip and slide anywhere and are wipe clean.
However.....I wouldn't go for the white option as I did if I was you. The other colour options should be fine and dandy though. Mine being white has a white cotton stitching meaning it gets dirty and stained and not very easy to clean at all and in fact first time I used a place-mat I got a dirty stain on the stitching and I can't remove it as I can't wash them properly or turn them over or anything like that! However the stitching on the other colours is the same as the actual items so I'd go darker for that reason if I was you!
At £16.00 a set I think these are well worth the money and very smart indeed. They do a great job and look really good qulaity....I just wish I'd never bought the white option so don't make the same mistake as me!
Only available from K&co (www.kandco.com).
Summary: Lovely looking items which are functional too!
