The Measuring Spoons

The measuring spoons are made by a brand called Colourworks who are a well known brand of kitchen products and accessories. The measuring spoons come in a pack of 5 which are made from a brightly coloured plastic. The spoons are made from melamine which means they are stain resistant and also very strong. They have long handles which makes scooping ingredients easier and they can be unclipped from the plastic ring and then clipped together when you have finished using them. The smallest measurement on the spoon starts from 1/4 teaspoon, whilst the largest is 1 tablespoon. The spoons are non stick which makes cleaning them easier; how-ever they are also dishwasher safe. I actually really love the look of the measuring spoons due to the bright colour each different spoon is. The spoons are guaranteed to last for 5 years.

The spoons cost me £3.49 which I thought was good value as I was expecting to have to pay at least £5.00 for a set of measuring spoons. I purchased the spoons from my local Lakeland store, but you can also purchase them from the Lakeland website as well. You may also be able to purchase these on other websites, but I have not checked this.

Using the Spoons

The ring pulls apart easily to enable you to get a spoon off of the ring to use. I was a little scared about pulling the ring too hard in case the ring snapped as although it looks quite strong, I'm not sure how much force it would actually be able to take. On each spoons you can clearly see what the measurement is. This is printed in white print so stands out easily on the different coloured spoons. The spoons are very light to hold and they are very easy to use when measuring ingredients. I find I can pour liquids and scoop other ingredients on the spoons very easily without making too much of a mess. The spoons are really easy to clean using some washing up liquid and hot water. I don't ever need to scrub or rub at the spoons as ingredients don't tend to stick to them. I have been using the spoons for a number of months now and they haven't stained and they are still looking great. The spoons are easy to clip back onto the ring which makes them perfect for storing altogether in a drawer with your other kitchen accessories. The ring does seem quite flimsy and I think if you aren't careful enough when taking the spoons on and off this may eventually break or snap.

Overall Opinion

The spoons are really good quality for just £3.49 and I love the bright colours of the spoons. The print on the spoons hasn't worn off and the spoons still look as good as they did when I first purchased them a few months ago. I know there are stronger, more expensive measuring spoons available to buy but these do a perfect job for me and are strong and so easy to clean. I think these are fantastic value for money and live up to its claims. I highly recommend these to others who also enjoy baking form time to time and needs some measuring spoons.
