~Plastic Is Just Not Good Enough Anymore~
I used to always use a plastic drainer on my draining board, but over time I got so sick and tired of having to scrub away at it as it was always getting grubby, sometimes my plates would need washing after I took them off the drainer, I just found myself going round in circles, forever washing the same plates. So I decided enough was enough, I ditched the plastic drainer and got myself this Kitchen Craft Fold Away Dish Drainer.
~Kitchen Craft Fold Away Dish Drainer~
This drainer, I have had for quite a while now and I have to say it's a great product, so much more cleaner and hygienic than the plastic one I used to use. This drainer is chrome plated and looks a lot nicer than the plastic one for a start, it measures 20 by 14 inches when opened out fully on my draining board, but the great thing about this drainer is that once all my dishes are wiped and put away I can give this drainer a quick wipe down and fold it away, giving me room on my draining board and at the same time not looking unsightly just sitting there taking loads of unnecessary space up. The main part of the drainer will hold up to around 27 plates, not that I have 27 plates, it's just that there's 27 places where plates could sit depending on the thickness of them I suppose. The drainer looks like a big X when opened out and on one side is a smaller pull down flap which can hold cups, bowls etc. The drainer has four little black stoppers for feet to stop it from sliding on the draining board. It's very strong and sturdy, it hasn't bent at all in all the time I've been using it and I've had saucepans and large serving dishes balanced on it, it's a great little drainer and it's a lot tougher than it looks.
I find this drainer to be perfect for my needs and a good space saver too. The only thing I feel it's missing, is a place to put my cutlery. As this drainer has no compartment for cutlery I bought a separate cutlery drainer that sits very nicely at the side of it. I love the idea of it folding completely flat so I can store it away when not in use. It's also really easy to keep clean, and after the performances I used to have with the plastic drainer, believe me this is a god send. I can highly recommend this drainer, it looks nice, it safes space, it's easy to keep clean and it only cost me around £10.00 but that was a while ago now. I bought mine from Wilkinson's at the same time I bought my cutlery drainer and I haven't regretted buying it at all.
~From Plastic to Chrome Plated...it's so worth it~
If you are currently using a plastic drainer, then I urge you to take a good look at this drainer and rethink, you'll be amazed with how much better it looks on your draining board in your kitchen. Mine always looks shiny and new and I am more than impressed with it.
You can buy a slightly smaller version of this drainer from Amazon currently selling for £12.49 however I'm sure if you shop around you would be able to pick one up cheaper.
I'm giving this Kitchen Craft Fold Away Dish Drainer 5 stars because it has made life in the kitchen so much easier and cleaner and more hygienic and it still looks as good as new.
