      Master Class Masher

After trying to mash some sweet potatoes at my parents' house and not succeeding very well I decided I needed to purchase a new masher. The masher they had was totally metal and was awkward and a little painful to hold, especially when mashing! As I love mash potato especially sweet mashed potato and it was going to be a thing that I would regularly have for dinner I went into town before work to find a decent more comfortable masher to use. My first choice of store was Lakeland how-ever they were opening late due to staff training so I opted for Robert Dyas instead. Although they had about 3-4 different mashers I went with this one in the end as it looked comfortable to hold and sounded like it was good quality and it had a 10 year guarantee as well. The masher is originally £3.99, how-ever the current reduced priced is £2.99 which I thought was very reasonable. This particular masher is by Master Class and is heat, odour and stain resistant. The masher features a comfort shaped non grip handle which looked really comfortable and a lot better than the masher my parents had at home. The masher is heat resistant up to 210 degrees C and is dishwasher safe which makes washing it much easier. The main colour of the masher is black but you can also see some steel colour on the masher as well. The actual flat part of the masher has long oval shaped holes in so you can mash the potato well. (This was much better than the one at my parents which had round holes which were a lot smaller!) The masher feel's really strong and sturdy and I was looking forwards to putting it to the test when making sweet mashed potato.

Before using the masher I washed it in warm soapy water and allowed it to dry. After draining the potatoes and adding a little butter and milk I started to mash the potatoes up with the masher. The potatoes were cut up quite small anyway so I didn't have any large potatoes to contend with. the soft grip handle on the top of the masher makes it extremely comfortable to hold when mashing the potatoes and no matter how tight I hold the masher it still feel's comfortable. The masher is very strong and mashes potatoes very well without having to use too much effort. As the masher has oval holes the potato goes through these holes easily to help the potato become as mashed as possible. The previous masher I used was hard because the holes in the bottom of the masher were so hard. I don't have a dishwasher but the masher is really easy to clean. Now I have used the masher a few times and I do think that this product will last the guaranteed ten years as its very strong and well made. In terms of value I think the masher is very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this to others.
