Advantages: durable, absorbent

Disadvantages: none for me

I have to have a good stock of kitchen roll in my house as I hate how dishcloths can smell after only one or two uses so quite often I prefer to use kitchen towel as dispose of it as I go. Having tried less expensive brands, I do keep coming back to Plenty (formerly Bounty) as one of the better ones on the market.

A two pack of Plenty costs around £1.86 but you can also buy four for £3.68 and eight for £4.50 packs (based on Tescos). If you fancy it you can also purchase Plenty with fun prints on or even ones with different border designs (to fit in with your home) lol!

The plastic packaging states that they now have new dura lock with an arrow pointing to the many small indentations on the sheets that obviously aren't there just to make a pretty pattern!!

The blurb on the back of the plastic packaging states 'Thanks to its advanced paper technology, Plenty offers you excellent absorbencyand durability (even when wet!)so you can handle spills effectively. Plenty lasts so long without shredding - you will be surprised how long one single sheet stays intact and for how many purposes you can use Plenty!

Now although the packaging also displays lots of places you can use these sheets, i.e. pots, pans, taps, cookers, windows, car, barbeque etc. I tend to use these for everyday spills and cleaning. I also use one of these dampened to wipe strawberries or other fruits before serving.

Each sheet's specifications are: 2 rolls - 2-ply tissue, average sheets 50 per roll. Roll length is 11.4m, total area per pack is 5.2sqm and the sheet size is 229mm x 228mm.

MY THOUGHTS

I find this to be an indispensible product to have in the kitchen. I frequently wipe over my kitchen surfaces with these and find that they do just as good a job as your average dishcloth. Also I have been able to reuse these during a larger cleaning job and you can rinse out any cleaning product and/or dirt and wring it out and carrying on using it without it tearing or shredding at all. Even if you are having to rub quite hard at stubborn stains the sheet will stay whole.

The second use I use this most for is for cleaning up spills. I have an 8 and 7 year old and there are still the odd accidents whereby juice or milk get spilled and these are excellent for taking up most of the liquid which helps prevent staining if you get there quick enough. Again you can wring out the liquid and reapply to the spill before needing a new sheet.

Another great use I have for these is to fold them up and run under cold water and use them as a cold compress on any grazes bumps or bruises my children happen to be sporting which tends to happen on quite a regular basis!!

I like the fact that you can use and dispose of these once you have finshed with them and because they are so durable and absorbent, one roll should last you quite a long while. I also like the fact that each sheet is clean. I tend to worry about the germs lurking on used dishcloths so this gives me peace of mind as well.

This product has apparently been approved by the Good Housekeeping Institute in 2011 so if you want a recommendation other than mine I guess that is as good as any.

All in all I would recommend this product because it is highly absorbent, you can rinse and re-use if necessary and these are very durable.

Please note that the packaging is recyclable and these should not be disposed of down the loo!

Thanks for reading. x
