I love a bargain and with putting the finishing touches to my flat I very often look in discount stores for bits and pieces. Poundland, I often find to have great items and recently I spotted these splatter screens. I am not the best of cooks, very often mess up the cooker hob and felt that 2 splatter screens for a pound was a great buy!

These didn't comes with a lot of packaging on them at all. To hold the two splatter screens together there was a light yellow and dark blue piece of card and on the front of that we are told that they are indeed 'Home' Splatter Screens and the sizes for each one is given. On the back of the card contact details for Poundland are given and that easily pulls off the screens and is just as easily disposed of, of course.

The Splatter Screens:

Well you get two sizes of screens. One is 25cm and the larger 28cm. My smaller one I can rest on a small pan or a medium pan with ease, the larger one fits over my chip pan and large pans as well as my frying pan.

In design they are simple. You get a dark blue plastic handle, trimmed with silver metal and then the screen is silver mesh made round in shape and in a silver frame and is noce and secure.

What I like about these is that they really do work. Not only is the handle very light it doesn't get hot, just a little warm...course though if you put it over a flame by accident it does melt. The mesh is tightly and neatly put into the frame and doesn't with heat buckle or fray at all. Sure they are a pain to wash because these are best used with hot fat in pans and frying pans but they are washable of course you just need some elbow grease lol.

These do stop fat splattering over your cooker and I like the quality and size of both of them and find them incredibly helpful. A great buy in my opinion!
