When it comes to Pyrex kitchenware it is something that I have not only grown up seeing my mother use but something that I have bought into myself.......however I have to admit that I only ever bought the glass items and wasn't really familiar with anything else that Pyrex did until I came across this item.
I was a very lucky lady when I moved into my flat as the previous tenant who I had met had left me a few new bits and pieces that she didn't want to take with her. One of those items was this that she had bought and never used and I was very pleased with it of course especially when my beady eyes spotted that it was Pyrex and another Pyrex item to add to my ever growing collection!
My oven tray measures H2xW39xD28cm and it is rather shallow. Its mainly smooth to both sides of it and a lightish black colour rather than a jet black shade and its very smart indeed and safe to use in the oven and its dishwasher safe, as all of the Pyrex items that I own are.
I particulary like the design of this oven tray. It has a large area to place food which is oblong in shape and to each end of it carrying handles which have raised dimples to them for helping with ease of carrying and on there we are neatly told that it is of course Pyrex.
I use my oven tray probably most days. I cook oven chips on it, wedges, pizzas, fish...you name it I heat it up in it! Its big enough for my needs easily and it washes up easily too which is a bonus for this lazy bird!
Although I use mine often as I have already stated this has stayed looking as good as new and saved my cooker getting in a state and I love the large handles to help this clumsy clot to not drop it and the fact that it doesn't bend or get burnt even in very hot temperatures.
These oven trays are readily available at about £7.50 each for the size that I have and that price comes from Tescodirect.com but do Google if interested!

Baking trays never used to last long in this house. They always ended up scratched and unusable after about a month, however I have to admit that the ones that I used to buy were very cheap so it's no surprise that they weren't the best quality really!
This baking tray however is amazing quality, and although it was on the pricey side at £8 (I bought mine from amazon but its available from lots of other shops too), it has been worth every penny. I've had it for around two months now and have used it most days and it still looks good as new - no scratches whatsoever.
It is made from carbon steel and feels sturdy and well made but it is still pretty light so I don't struggle to lift it in and out of the oven. It does get really hot so I always use oven gloves when I'm taking it out of the oven and even with an oven glove on I find it easy to grip as it has space to hold it on each end.
The material of it means that it heats up really quickly which is great because most of the food that I put on it to cook needs to be placed onto a pre-heated baking tray and I don't need to wait around for ages for it to warm up. I use the baking tray mainly for cooking fish and meat and I often place the fish in foil and then onto the baking tray and the foil never gets stuck to the tray.
If I'm not using foil I will use some fry light and spray it onto the baking tray to avoid the food sticking to it and although things like batter coated fish can sometimes stick a little it is pretty easy to get it off. I usually use a wet dish cloth to wash it down and this usually gets any crumbs etc off of it and it is dishwasher safe.
I'd definitely recommend this baking tray as it is good quality and cleans up well, and even after a couple of months it is still good as new. It is not perfect because certain foods do stick to it but because it comes away easily without me having to spend ages scraping it off, I don't see this as enough of a disadvantage to knock a star off. It is good value for money and I give it five out of five stars.
I have lost count of the number of different types of oven trays that I have bought over the years since I have been married and I find they all tend to lose their non stick, get bent slightly, and become a nightmare to wash. In the run up to our house move I decided to get rid of a few of the oven trays that I had accumulated that I dreaded using due to the difficult wash up afterwards. I was lucky enough that one day whilst in Asda, for some reason, they was a shelf with some household items reduced to clear, including a handful of these Pyrex oven trays for a tiny £2 and given that you can usually expect to pay around £6 for one, this was a real bargain. There wasn't a single thing wrong with the trays, but I lifted a couple, and my only regret now was not lifting a couple more.
I have other Pyrex kitchen items and have always been very happy with the quality of them, so I didn't hesitate to pick up these trays (even despite the price tag!). This tray measures 33cm by 25cm which is a fairly average size for an oven tray. There is a five year guarantee that comes with this product, and this is enough to give peace of mind.
There are some other features of this tray including, that it can be used in heat sources up to 230 degrees, there is a non stick coating on the tray which has supposedly been extensively tested to ensure that you can smoothly and easily remove cooked food from the tray, it is dishwasher safe and has two reasonably large handles with an anti slip texture to help when carrying them to and from the oven. This tray is also made of strong carbon steel. making it very durable and helping it conduct heat evenly.
I actually started using these trays in the our old house before we moved, as well as now in our new house and I was very pleased. I have had them for about two months now and so far, there has been no issue with food items sticking, they have washed superbly without any hassle (though I haven't tried them in our new dishwasher as yet). I find the handles make it easier to lift out of the oven with my oven gloves as there is a good portion of the tray to hold on to. I have had it at both low and high temperatures in my oven, which I would say is a pretty hot oven in general, and so far I have had no issue with the product bending.
I have had other oven trays that by now have shown problems - becoming bent or losing their non stick. So far, I have not had any such problems so these are the best I have yet encountered.
==Pyrex Classic Non Stick Oven Tray==
Having had so much success with the Pyrex jugs that I have I decided that the brand must offer other items which represent good value for money as they are long lasting and hard wearing and how right I was when I purchased this oven tray.
The oven tray is a little more expensive than other non-branded oven trays and for around £5 it might seem like a lot of money considering that Poudland do oven trays of the same size and you could have 5 of them for this 1. However having bought a few from Poundland I know that there ones often don't wash up very well and will bend slightly if over used and this is not ideal when cooking and is not something that the Pyrex one will do.
The size of this tray is just perfect for doing a couple of portions of chips in at 33 x 25 cm and is not particularly deep so will just about fit in one layer of chips which is really the perfect way to cook them anyway so all in all the tray I feel is the perfect size.
It is made from carbon steel but it does have a non-stick silicone polyester coating all over which makes for total ease when cleaning it and also, and more importantly, the cooking as things just don't stick to it at all.
There is a 5 year manufacturers guarantee which is always good to have though I shouldn't' think you would need this at all because of the fact that they are so well made and can stand temperatures up to 230 degrees and I have had my one for a good few years now and although doesn't look as good as new is still in good working order with the covering of the tray still perfect and the non-stick ability not having changed at all.
I have put mine in the dishwasher and have found this to be fine although it never comes up as clean as when I give it a going over in the kitchen sink and it doesn't fit quite that comfortably into my dishwasher so I tend to hand wash it unless I am feeling really lazy.
This is a really good oven tray that will last for a good many years and still give a great performance. It is a good size for everyday cooking and the fact that it is easy to clean and the food never sticks to it whilst cooking makes it a far better purchase than getting cheap ones which don't last very long, aren't dishwasher safe and gets the food encrusted on to it whilst cooking.
For these reasons I feel a top score of 5 out of 5 stars is well deserved for this product and I would highly recommend it to one and all!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
