Pyrex Measuring Jug
Advantages: Great qulaity and very versatile
Pyrex makes a great little clear glass jug with a sturdy handle for carrying. We had our first one as a wedding present years and years ago and it lasted for ages. It's still with us, but we have since bought a second one, simply becasue they are so handy to have.
They cost now about £1.70 in most shops like Tesco or Asda etc. Ours is a 0.5litre capacity and it comes with the peace of mind that of a full one year's guarantee. It has been dropped in our kitchen more times than I care to remember, but despite this, it has not smashed or broken so it is very hard wearing.
It is made of clear glass which is toughened heat resistant so we use ours for not only cold liquids but also for very hot liquids, safe in the knowledge that the glass won't shatter or break and therefore be dangerous.
It is completely dishwasher safe and you can also use it in the microwave. We use ours in the microwave to heat up things such as custard or rice pudding for the little lad after his tea. The food gets hot but the glass remains nice and cool, importantly, the handle remains cool which I personally find very useful.
Down the side it has some good clear measuring marks in bright red 50ml lines so you can see very clearly how much liquid you have if you need to measure out ingredients very specifically.
The newer ones are a different (flatter) shape to the one we got as a wedding present, but work just the same.
I think every house should have one of these because they are so handy and versatile.
I can't say much more about this Pyrex glass jug but I hope readers will have found my review helpful if making a purchase.
